I've just Emailed Norwich Camping who are Kampa Awning Stockists, to ask about these:-

They are looking into it as they would like to offer them. I'll let you know how they get on.

OK, Norwich Camping and Leisure have located them and have got back to me to say that they can now supply them.

Here's the new link to their website:- https://www.norwichcamping.co.uk/shop/ca...avan-covers-96/

Don't know what the quality is like. I wonder if they're the same ones that AL sell?

Presumably the door is larger on the Troll cover to cater for the different door position on the 530 and like to the 540 and like. Again, ask the question.

We had a Kampa cover for our folding camper which lasted 3yrs. This may not sound great but it was on the camper pretty much the whole year whenever it was not in use - which will not be the case with our Eriba - & I think that the sun caused more damage than any "bad" weather.

The quality is not as good as the Pro-tec we inherited with our Puck L, but at a third of the price I would have no qualms about buying the Kampa version when this one has sacrificed itself protecting our baby.

Hi everyone - newbie question. I'm about to buy a cover for our new Puck L. Just wanted to canvas opinion (pun intended).

If Pro-tec is streets ahead then I'm happy to make the investment... But they really are super pricey compared to AL or Kampa and I wondered if folk had any advice?

What would a buyer be paying for if they got a Pro-tec instead of the others?

Many thanks!
Emma

They would get a perfect made to measure fit that would last a couple of years longer. They would also get a hole in the pocket 2 or 3 times greater than if buying a generic cover. this is why I bought a Kampa for my triton for about £85/90.

There is a choice of 5 different companies that can supply bespoke Eriba covers, the link below will take you to them all. I have a specialised cover which is now on for its seventh season. Specialised have gusset in the roof panel to accommodate the chimney, they will also add extra profiles for bike racks etc.
I would assume that the Protec and the Specialised use a heavier material, however the Kampa looks like good value and I would be tempted to try one next time.
The disadvantage of the Protec and Specialised is that they are made to order and at this time of year you will be lucky to get one delivered in time before winter sets in ...

We have a Kampa one from AL that we have used for two winters and just about to put it on our Troll for the third.

It wasn't too dear and seems to does it's job well. No special gusset for chimney though - we take our cowling off and cover the remaining bit of chimney in bubble wrap. Always clean and polish it before put the cover on but might not have time this year as working to a bit of a deadline. MikeT

So, from what you're saying Mike, they are not new to the market?

I believe the recommendation is to make sure the ‘van is VERY clean before putting any cover on, there will always be some movement of the cover due to wind and even small bits of muck left on the ‘van will have the potential to cause scratching or abrasions of the surface.

hi Randa

It looks very similar to ours but ours is a green colour and it looks from the picture on the cover as if the door is a tiny bit bigger on these than ours.

We think ours was good value for the price and it stood up to some horrendous winds last winter without showing any signs of damage or UV discolouring We are below three hills and can get some real strong winds coming down from different directions.. Hopeful to use it for a good few years more and then would think about replacing it with an identical one from AL. MikeT

For anyone who is thinking of buying a cover for winter have a look at the Pro Tec website. They are offering a discount of £50 on full covers until the end of October. Just ordered one for my Triton 430.

Thanks guys, I think I'm going to take advantage of the £50 discount and get one of the Protec covers.

Just for my ha'pence worth:
we inherited an AL cover which was 2 years old with our Eriba. We did not use it outdoor throughout last winter as we stored indoors but the AL cover faded away, the top ended up almost white and threadbare. Ended up like wet tissue paper. We were covered in green dust every time we took it off. I bought a Pro-tec this summer. Streets ahead. Great value. Highly recommended.
