The table in my Puck is great but best used outside. Like many before me I have looked into making a smaller table which is more user friendly. Something I spotted this week made me thinking and made me making.
I noticed a set of bamboo chopping boards in a charity shop in Otford. Not only were they new, they were thicker than others I had seen on the internet. At £12.50 for all three I couldn't go wrong.

I gather a few other parts including a section of table rail from AL which arrived this morning.

A shame the aluminium version wasn't available.
I used the smaller board as a base to sit on the cushion and the 2 larger ones as table tops. I will use which one is best suited depending on if I'm on my own or not. The nice thing about these are they have the full width of the fixed rail to move along.

Like most first attempts slight adjustments need doing. The plastic rail is thinner than the original. I have used a strip of electrical tape to beef it up a little to take out some slack. The pole also isn't a tight fit on the fixings. Again tape is being used to pick up the slack. In time I may look at other legs but these are removable so store away without much trouble.
I have some of the rail left which gives me the option to repurpose something else in the future. I wonder what an ironing board table would look like...
