Got a Dog? Want To Keep It?

I don't dislike dogs, just sloppy selfish owners.
When the dog goes walkabout and joins me
full of bounce and friendship inside my caravan
I often wish the owner would take more care.

How many times have you had other people's dogs in yer van unasked Rod? I've not heard of that before and shouldn't happen if they're kept on a lead as virtually all sites stipulate.

Andy, the odds are pretty high considering the numbers of dogs on sites.
It has actually happened twice to me in the Eribas, but not in the Baileys
because they have a door that allows the bottom half closed, top half closed.

We often came across those windbreaks when we used to go to dog shows.
Occasionally you'd get half a dozen vans parked close together encircled by a Berlin Wall of windbreaks, with around a dozen or so dogs racing around inside creating mayhem. Of course now and then one or more found a way out and all hell broke loose. I'd rather depend on a good strong tie-out because at least you're complying with the site requirement to keep the dog on a lead.

We have a dog and it always on a lead, however I have seen on numerous occasions owners with a sunshade awning with a multitude of wind breaks or a wire surround closing the area around the van off making it look like the booking office for a circus. I don't mind that set up but what I do object to is the owner letting the dog have free run unsupervised and allow it to do its business in that area.
The next van that comes along will no doubt put their awning up over that dog soiled area.
I like to pop my top when I go on holiday

I have to admit that twice our German shepherd escaped while Mark went to fill the water container. The dog was in the awning so I went in to put the kettle on, I looked out of our window to see what i thought was an identical dog to ours inviting herself into a neighbours van. Of course the neighbour was rightfully not amused and I couldn't apologise enough. Our dog had found that she could get her nose under the awning zip and open the door. So from then on I put her in her cage if turned my back, the second escape was when I hadn't fastened the lock correctly and both the dogs joined Mark at the water point. Sometimes accidents do happen and dogs can escape but now I just wait until Mark gets back before I leave the horrors as they are a smart pair .
