Back in the early 1970's I visited the Karmann factory in Osnabruck👍back then I was driving a VW 411 LE oh yeh and something much much heavier powered by an Ex Spitfire 27 ltd Merlin engine, happy days👍😎

Hundreds of brand new Ferraris could drive past and I'd not notice, but that gorgeous red 411 LE would definitely turn my head.

Weren't they know as a fastback. A friend of mine had one in the early 80's. I think he brought it back from Germany where he had been working. I can remember it being fairly nippy, that's when the gearbox finally went back in after a much needed clutch job. I can still remember seeing the gearbox balancing on a trolley jack wiith the back end of the car in the air.
