I think the origin of obscuring plates was that selling locally a car that had towed was Knackered, so hiding the numberplate gave a better chance of a sale

I'm more than happy for folks to add their plates on any world wide forum, it was just an answer to your question, however I will always blank mine. For me it is a case of once bitten twice shy.

No probs I know you was only looking for logic to your original question, there will always be a different view of things and experiences to share which is what forums are good for. I hope both Mrs Pews are doing well

I can't see the point personally. Pics of my cars are all over the net and they regularly appear in MiniWorld magazine, so it would be a bit late to try to disguise them!
