Getting braver by the job.

Well, having had a message back from my gas fitter, I thought I might as well cut another hole in my Puck.
This time it is for a bullfinch external gas point.

This is that moment when you hope you are in the right place.

This is without the gas point attached. I also found that you could remove the lid to make things easier.

This is only fitted temporarily until the gas is connected. Then it will have silicon added to the back.

This is with the gas connector attached.

And this is what it will look like when it's finished.

I don't think that I have used a magnet so much since my schooldays !

Quite a simple job, once all decisions have been made !

Someone needs to confiscate your tools..!

Nice work. You may need to do some lessons at the big bash.

Nice neat job. Does the fitting come with a gasket seal on the back. I ask as you say you will silicon it. I’ve found it best to use either way of making the seal water proof but not both.

It does have a gasket, but as it's on the dimpled bit, I was going to do belt and braces !
I can see how it goes and always use sealant later.

For what it's worth, I'd use a purpose-made non-setting sealant rather than silicone anyway.

I reckon the only good use for silicone is round the edge of the bath at home. It's a pain in the arse otherwise, not least because it's a pig to remove when it's cured, and especially from a surface which isn't smooth.

Sorry, I automatically used the word silicone ! I meant caravan type Sikaflex as recommended by members of this forum.
