Triton 420 Kitchen Storage Space

Hi all.
I am trying to persuade my better half that when we sell our camper van, we should buy a Triton 420. Shes now had a look at one and was impressed by the build quality, but is concerned about the storage of food and pots and pans as the fairly modern version we looked at had some electrical gear in one of the front cupboards. There seemed to be plent of storage room to me, but as a novice user of any kitchen, she has the greater knowledge by far. From a practical point of view could any forum users comment on this issue.
Many thanks
Gerwyn

Gerwyn,
I've not owned a Triton 420 but I have owned a Troll with the same front end kitchen arrangement. I believe this front end kitchen set-up offers the largest kitchen storage, so you should not be wanting in this area.

When we had our 420 I bought a long plastic DVD/video storage box that just fitted on the narrow top shelf under the cooker. All our pans (stacking),teapot and cafetiere fitted in. when it was on the shelf it was just held in where the shelf vanished into the corner so everything was safe. There was then a space left next to it where several cereal boxes went from memory. All that before you needed to use the bottom of the cupboard. Loads of room.

Sorry Colin but I'm confused. I don't recognise a Troll with a front kitchen.

It was a 552 I had back in 2007/8. The cupboard area was so big as the wide bodied Troll was 100 mm that I used to store a trolley jack in there.

We have a 2015 Triton 420. No problem with storage for us. Tend to stack all the pots and pans in a plastic washing up bowl and pop it on the shelf in the right hand cupboard. At the bottom is beer/wine, oh, and some food. Don't usually put much in the left hand cupboard but plenty of space in there for any overflow.
We avoid having anything free to move about whilst travelling, preferring to load this into the car, and transfer to various cupboards once we are on site.

Gerwyn. We’ve had 2 420s and found the storage space huge. Some of it behind the toilet wall and in the corresponding area in the kitchen is maybe, a little hard to access but we kept occasional use stuff there.
The whole front storage under the hob and sink is cavernous.

All of our electrics are in the bottom of the wardrobe (blue Shaudt 12v distribution box and 240v mains). The only wires in the right hand sink unit are to the tap microswitches.
I would suggest not covering up the Shaudt box (especially with quilts/sleeping bags etc). You wouldn't want to cook it.
I am away at the mo but home on Friday so can take some photos if you like.

Ok here are some pics (all from 2015 model Triton 420)
left hand cupboard
area tucked away to left.... _IGP6198.JPG - Bild entfernt (keine Rechte) Hot/Cold water pipes run across the floor, and gas pipe rises at the back of this space.
area behind cupboard door.... _IGP6195.JPG - Bild entfernt (keine Rechte) water drains on floor (protected by bits of ply) and gas taps for fridge, hob, heater & hot water are on the right hand side.
shelf in left hand cupboard... _IGP6196.JPG - Bild entfernt (keine Rechte)
Right hand cupboard... _IGP6201.JPG - Bild entfernt (keine Rechte) white washing bowl gives and indication of the size of the floor. Can fit 2 of these in here.
Shelf in right hand cupboard... _IGP6200.JPG - Bild entfernt (keine Rechte) again there is space for a washing bowl and more. The wires here are for the tap microswitches and electrical earth (plus the water pipes and drain).
Wardrobe containing electrical distribution..... _IGP6204.JPG - Bild entfernt (keine Rechte) The blue box is the 12v distribution, and the white unit is 240V AC.
We tend to travel fairly light and when travelling only have stuff in the van which is not going to slide around otherwise it goes in the car. Once we are on site we migrate everything to these cupboards for the duration.
Hope this helps.

Hi we've just swapped a 2008 430 GT for a 2019 420 GT but travel very light.
We used to have big Baileys but decided to downsize and go back to basics.
We haven't bothered with hot water etc. So our base cupboards only contain the supply pipes to the hob and the plastic water container for the tap.
My wife tells me storage is more than adequate, in fact she chose the 420 GT for the layout.
Still loving Eriba living. Tows superbly, then on arrival with landing gear down and first brew on every trip.
Also as with the Baileys we have this rubber mesh grip matting in the lower cupboards to hinder any sliding around of anything we do carry in there.
Incidentally concerning the 12v control box in the wardrobe. We're wondering why place this unit which needs constant air circulation round it in a wardrobe where clothes are meant to be hung and therefore blocking clear the air circulation?
Best regards
Tom
