Put a couple of pics up in the gallery. Had a very wet first weekend but loved it. Back of Beyond campsite in St Leonards outside Poole was lovely, very quiet. Not everyone's cup of tea but we really liked it. If you like lots of facilities go somewhere else but if you like peace, nice big pitches, no kids, lots of room (several acres) to exercise your dogs (we don't have any) and lovely clean heated bathrooms then this is the place. Lovely pitch and putt golf course (not talking crazy golf here) and a lake for fishing. The view along the entrance road (including a scrapyard) might look a bit grim when there is no leaf cover, but rest assured that none of this is visible from the campsite. Very friendly new owners that are keen to receive feedback to improve the site.

Re the 420 GT, we love it . However, I stand by ditching the storage cupboard between the seats - it has gone! We slept head to the middle and I stubbed my toe on it during the night and it would't work at all with one's head to the end! Hubby is going to see if he can remove the top of it without damaging the cupboard and put a folding leg on just the top, so we have the little table alone, which will be easy to stow away every night. The reading lights again caught my head several times, without me going anywhere near an Eriba 'kiss', so they will get replaced with something more flush fitting. We cant easily re-site them without seeing wires or holes so will just get some replacements that are less likely to catch my head. I have now got my sewing machine out to make curtains to match those in the T5 and the 'nets' don't do it for me, so they'll go into storage. But, other than those few niggles, it's perfect!!! Also going to use a few different screws to make things a bit more sturdy in some areas, notably the panel to the right off the toilet door lock, where it meets the kitchen worktop - that's all a bit 'wiggly' for me.

So, I finally have an Eriba to talk about!!!

Haven't tried the bike rack on the back of the T5 yet BTW. Looks like it might be okay but need to fold it down and try full lock with it.

Hi Lesley and Simon. Yes, we saw the photos you posted. Don't 'arf cut a dash, don't they? You're going to get a lot of interest in those two every time you roll up somewhere.
We really like your style. No whinging about this and that. If something doesn't fit with your plans then "hence" it
What a lot of us have done in retro-fitting 12V reading lights is to use these http://www.ebay.co.uk/bhp/12v-led-tube-light
They fit snugly under the overhead shelves IN FRONT of the window pelmet and don't get in the way.
Anyway, really glad it's all come together for you both and we eagerly await reports of your future trips.
R and A

We've already booked this coming long weekend at Coastal Stay for its great view of the sea, to walk the Pembrokeshire coastal path. It's a lovely campsite that also allows/has fire pits - there is nothing like sitting outside on a chilly early evening by an open fire as the sun goes down over the sea.

We have arranged covered storage for the Eriba and fortunately it has an 'as and when' basis option. We have found the Eriba fits just nicely on our drive. It isn't as 'offensive' on the eye to neighbours as the tall white caravans, so apart from maybe 4 months over the winter, it will stay with us most of the year, packed up and ready to go.

More modifications today:
'
Hubby is cutting a left over piece of pond liner to line the underbed side locker ready for muddy boots and anything that gets wet - EHU cable etc. He's going to wire a plug socket in there too, so we can put the halogen oven on the table outside.

Shower curtain is out and will go with the net curtains and the centre storage unit in the attic. A couple of chrome hooks to go in the washroom for wet coats.

***

I am going to search the internet to find some appropriately sized plastic boxes to use in the undersink/hob cupboards. The space is great but you can't get to the back easily without removing everything. Boxes you can pull out halfway so you can see and get at everything.

Re the lights, we'll probably get map reading lights (those on stalks) to replace the reading lights. We have those in the roof bed in the T5 and they are great as they only illuminate the book/kindle of whoever is reading and nothing else, they also bend out of the way when you aren't needing them.

Seeing how electric hook up is now routinely £5 a night minimum, we are going to use the fridge on gas and see if we can have as few nights on EHU as possible and see how the costs compare. We'll be away at least 3 months continually in Europe every summer and £150 a month is not much less than what our combined gas and electric is at home for a family house!

As a seasoned traveller in Europe you obviously have your own taste in camp sites. As for us, we almost always use ACSI sites and the daily camp site cost ranging between 12 and 18 Euros includes electricity.
It therefore makes sense for us to get as much use out of the EHU as possible. We are now into our 3rd week of travelling and have not used any gas whatsoever. The new induction hob has been a godsend.

While clearing out the garage recently I found a brand new portable induction job!
Now I remember buying it some years ago to carry in our motorhome but it never got out of its packaging and lay forgotten in the garage.
After a quick trial in the kitchen at home it seems much more controllable than the single ring electric hot plate that we have been using.
The domestic authority has often complained about the on/off style of the hot plate. She seems much happier with the more accurate temperature control of the induction hob which also has timer control. You can set the power level from 500 watts to 1800 Watts. Then set the temperature from 60 to 240 degrees C and then the cooking time from 5 minutes to 3 hours.
What sort of things are being produced on yours?
(Notice I didn't ask what are you cooking on hours Roger!

Totally agree with you, Roger. ACSI and EHU wherever possible.

Thought you and Frances already had one Tony. So that one we saw in Gordes was not an induction hob then.

WE (that's the Royal WE) have a 2000 watt hob that is power graduated from 1 to 10. When switched on it automatically defaults at 5 ( 1000 watts). WE normally turn that down to 3 ( 600 watts < 3 amps). The next setting is the temp. which defaults at 120 C which WE leave. Finally the time setting defaults at 0 and graduates up in 5 minute segments or down in 1 minute segments.
Mrs WE had cooked everything on it from basic meat, potatoes and 2 veg to pastas and curries. Mr WE has mastered it for weekends only when a full English is served up .
So far the lowest ampage camp site we've stayed at is 6 amp and, making sure not to boil the kettle at the same time, we've not tripped the lecci out (yet).
WE treated ourselves to a set of THESE to use with it. They are very nifty and are easy to wash/store.
