I have encountered the golden rulebook of pitching! on a few sites. As someone else said, I don't mind as I have a mover, however it does irk slightly over the stupidity of it, when wardens can use plain common sense and ask you not to encroach on the neighbours privacy and to allow sufficient space. Also the quote of Health and Safety, is farcical - as someone else said if the van had to be pulled out quickly then nose in is going to be a hinderance so that doesn't again make sense. I was looking for a site in the Wiltshire area and found one sites website state no EU vans!! Unless it is down to legal reasons or license then I would have thought this is discrimination and hardly sends a good message for tourism. On the other hand the site that asked me to pitch nose in then said that I could if wanted pitch crossways as they had a smaller one that did that not so long ago. I think in some instances the poor wardens can't get it right and unless the CC gives a clear direction then there will always be confusing and rather than interpret it wrongly they follow the rule by the book as I am sure anyone would. But I am not going to let the present spoil a relaxing time and argue over minor issues and would prefer it follows rules to stop any inconsiderate neighbours encroaching onto my privacy.
The rule of pitching nose in to stay on a couple the prestige sites I have encountered far outweighs the request, and the wardens have always been lovely the ones I have encountered luckily.
