As to why they are not displaying, well it's probably down to Brexit.......

Dont think it's your Firefox Colin. Ive just started working my way through the hundreds of posts that have piled up during my long holiday in the USA and I'm getting those weird little boxes too. As I type this all my smileys are displayed as these boxes with the name next to them. Im not on Firefox, haven't changed my computer or settings so what's going on?

The smileys come from a web site e.g http://yoursmiles.org/tsmile/drink/t0351.gif That's the 'Good Heallth' smiley.

If it is displaying a box instead then your machine is either unable to reach the web site, or something has changed on your machine or in the chain to that web site.

If you click the link above you should get a wee drinky person animated graphic. If not then it's nothing to do with the Eribafolk web site.

Most likely is that the connection to the Smiley GIF web site is being blocked by your browser because that site is classed as Not Secure as it does not use https: protocol. The major browsers have all switched to this behaviour over the last 12 months or so.

In fairness, Eribafolk should not be using that site for animated gifs as it is not serving over a secure link.
