Good Idea (or not)

Last winter I bought a Kampa winter cover for my aged 94 Triton, good price but the fit is a little baggy, it tends to billow a little when windy and the door opening is lower than the actual door.

This winter after the cover was fitted and fastened down I let the pop-top up as far as it would go (about 3/4 open) this has tightened everything, the cover is now tight to the sides also the door opening now matches, also I have a bit more headroom when doing winter jobs inside.

Am I creating any problems by doing this that I havn't thought about?

A note of caution - if you leave the top up beware if you have a heavy snowfall the weight of the snow can cause the top to drop and the canvas may get trapped.

Our top dropped when we were sleeping in the Eriba on our drive, Boxing Day two years ago. Apart from the possible damage to the canvas it's not good for your heart either. It's a heck of a bang at 2am when you're fast asleep.

Sorry should have made it clear, it was an unexpected heavy fall of snow, unnoticed by the rest of the family who were sleeping in the house.
