We have just had a trial run at home with our walker touring plus for our puck l . Please don't make the same mistake we did in not anchoring down as we went along. One big gust of wind and the whole awning ,including poles blew upwards over the puck. I would have taken a picture but my husband's fingers were trapped at the time where he was trying to catch it. But on the positive side very pleased with it . Had some help from Frantone and wife and now feel confident we can do it .Thank you Tony

Wow, that's awful!!

We used our Walker T+ for the first time last weekend, and we were pleased too.

Your post brought home to us the need to temporarily clamp a corner to the ground as you go along. We often find ourselves running out of hands to hold things in place as we put the awning up. Sue reminds me that we had a similar experience to you in Dorset a few years ago.

Nice neighbours you have there - know them well.

Now I think back, I don't think I have ever pegged our awninig down at erection stage, maybe never had the wind about, but will do so now.

Did you buy new? Is so then the storm straps should have come with the awning as standard equipment - or at least they did with mine. And yes, I had cause to use the straps very recently and now wouldn't travel without them. If all other avenues fail you could try contacting Ivo at Walker in Holland requesting a pair. A very helpful and nice guy who also reads and answers in English even if it is a bit ................er, Double Dutch.

I bought my straps as an additional item from Jeff Bowen, cost approx £15, they are very useful indeed

Yes I bought new from Jeff Bowen will ring to see if they should have been included. I also bought a hoax flooring which also seems very good quality. Very quick delivery too.
