Top Cupboard Latch

One of the top cupboards in our 530 is falling open. Latch seems not to be catching, it just wont stay closed. Van less than 1 year old so unlikely to be wear and tear. There is nothing in the cupboard, so not being pushed open by contents. Has anyone else had a similar issue? Can anyone suggest a repair for a DIY novice?

I suspect this is more likely the hinges at fault. Top lockers falling open, falling out and the loose screws is a well known problem. You need to check all of the overhead lockers, take photos and send them to the supplying dealer ASAP. This is a warranty issue. I had three locker fronts replaced under warranty and I replaced all of the hinge screws myself, re-countersinking all hinge holes and glueing the screw in. Many others have done similar.
