Have just received renewal from Staysure for our annual multi trip insurance which has extension that covers up to 50 days cover per trip. Renewal is for £226.64
We are looking to be away this year for up to 58 days max, House ins covers unoccupied for up to 60 days.
Looking for alternatives, who do other folks use?

Mike

We've always used Red Pennant but I fear you'll need to be a member of the Caravan Club to take advantage of it. The price is around about what you are looking at.

Blimey, we've never paid that amount. We pay around the £250 mark for 90 days but perhaps it's a lot more for multi-trips.

Mike,
its the over 45 days that increases the premium. Last Red Pennant quote I had was £351 for car,van 2 adults, 45 days multi trips for the year.

Nationwide flex plus account costs £13 / month and includes European breakdown and World travel insurance. We recently extended the standard 30 day cover on the travel to 50 days which cost an extra £36 for the year. It also includes mobile phone cover. So all up less than £200 for the years cover. They also offer a credit card without charges for Europe which makes it convenient to pay for tolls etc. even if when only paying a small amount.

We have the Nationwide cover through the packaged account too. When it was renewal time for our breakdown cover I queried the van and car separated in Europe scenario and asked what would happen. The response was “well we’re not going to leave your van in Europe, of course we’ll bring it back”. Seemed reasonable but to be on the safe side I’ve noted his name and the time and date of the call.
We extended the travel insurance to cover our 5 week trip to the USA, didn’t cost a lot extra, can’t remember exactly but not a lot.
