i bought an Adax VV22 fan heater, following the recent mention of their web page. It cost £13.00, came by free post overnight, and proves to be a very compact, neatly designed unit with a pretty quiet fan and good heat output. It comes in a well designed card box with a carrying handle, just right for putting in a cupboard in the van. What you need to know is that there is an on-off switch for the 2 power outputs, 900w and 1200w, but the thermostatic switch is at the back, and looks like a solid part of the casing; it has no markings, or grip, but if you hold it firmly and turn it anticlockwise looking from the rear, the unit comes on and works. The manual is poorly translated from, I believe, Norwegian, and refers to the thermostatic switch, but vaguely.
i was preparing to call the suppliers when the thermostat yielded to my grasp. I put a small biro mark on it so that I know where it is at.
I look forward to being able to test it properly later this year as a boost to my 800w oil filled radiator.
