Hello all,

We've recently decided to buy an Eriba which will be delivered in July. We're both new to caravanning/towing and we would appreciate any constructive advice and guidance! We're looking forward to being part of the Eriba community and excited by the thoughts of adventures that lie ahead!

Hi Randa. Thank you for the welcome. After looking at the range we decided on the 540GT. The Eriba seems to hold its value so we purchased new. I'm hoping it will bring us many years pleasure and perhaps satisfy or at least kerb our wanderlust :-)

A good choice. Probably the most popular layout for a Troll.

Not long before July. So as folk know what to recommend, are you complete camping novices or do you have some camping paraphernalia already?

I used to camp with the family many years ago but my camping equipment seems to have ended up with younger members of the family! So we're starting from scratch. I've been looking through the forum and so far I've purchased the double skillet and I brought a set of aero mirrors for when I pick it up but that is about all I have so far!

I think someone was asking a similar question recently so you may find your answers by trawling through recent posts.

Welcome Offbeat thinker - a great choice of Eriba. We also have a 540GT which we bought in summer 2016 from Automotive Leisure in Poole. We love it to bits & it has brought us pots of fun experiences.

We had never caravaned before, being tenters for years, and it was quite a learning curve. In fact I still do lots of things wrong as i have some memory problems.
A useful tip from someone on the Forum was to produce typed lists of things to do or check before you do something. I have one for hitching up and setting off stuck to the window as I kept missing some things out eg forgetting to take the handbrake off (daft as that sounds). We both did a manoeuvring course with the Caravan & Motorhome Club which set us up nicely before we got the Troll

There are brilliant people on the Forum that will help you with any query no matter how silly it might seem

Enjoy your new toy.

Welcome and I hope you manage to get some time away this summer.
Don't be afraid to ask questions, no matter how small or silly they may seem at the time, or 10 seconds after posting. We've all made mistakes so you can learn from where we have gone wrong and save face, time and money.

So, although there are several lists on here, let's start from the basic requirements.

1) A 25metre length of 2.5 core hook up cable:- https://www.leisureoutlet.com/mains-hook...ASABEgIcJfD_BwE

2) Also a 10 metre length of 2.5 core hook up cable as above. They can be plugged together if necessary for Electric Hook Up Posts (EHU) that are a distance away.

3) If you're planning to go abroad, a Euro Hook Up Adaptor because quite a few campsites still use these:-
https://www.westerntowing.co.uk/acatalog...ASABEgJtBvD_BwE

4) A UK Hook Up Adaptor for a very small number of UK Campsites who still use them:- https://www.hall-fast.com/defender-13-16...BSABEgJM8_D_BwE

5) A low wattage electric kettle.

6) A low wattage toaster.

Plenty more items but I'll let others get a say.

Randa

Hi Soulbluesman68 and thank you for the welcome. We're hoping that like yourself, that this gives us a means to make new friends and create new adventures. I've managed to book a manoeuvring course with midlands based company so the first time I tow isn't with our Eriba! Making lists sounds like a great tip - thank you.
