How long do you have to own an Eriba before ....

.... you stop hanging your #%€$^#% head on the door, bits of the roof and just about anywhere else which is at a stupidly low height?

We are currently on day 3 of out first Eriba trip and I just can not stop it happening. About ready to throw in the towel and swap it for a Bailey.

Someone give me hope .... I’m genuinely done with this low roof/door malarkey.

Our first Eriba was bought in 2003. I'm a slow leaner but can now normally manage a summer without injury. One bit of advice is to go out backwards.

Some people hang a cuddly toy (normally a duck) at the appropriate place eg over the door opening.

When we bought our Eriba Triton 420, it came with a little plaque over the door which read 'Duck or Grouse'. This made us laugh, and saved many a whack on the forehead. You soon learn, and now it is second nature to lower our heads when moving around inside our van.

Ten years later, I still bang my head occasionally on the door. It's usually worse if you have the fly screen attached. I put a bit of pipe insulation on the fly screen frame which makes it bearable. Don't worry it will become less frequent as time goes on. It's a small price to pay for a very unique van.

A good way to avoid the "Eriba Kiss", is to be 4ft 11inches tall like my wife. She doesn't know what all the fuss is about.🤕

Just stay on your hand and knees. Drinking too much can help.

Hi Roofraiser

I've cracked going in & out of the door by putting my hand on top of the door opening when going through it.Works a treat.

We have a Troll 540 with the multi-function beds. During the day we nearly always put the double bed down and use the area with the big table for dossing around reading or listening to music. It is at this time that I bang my head as I walk into the seating area on my side of the table. It is always worse if I have had a couple of glasses of red wine.

I am a very slow learner and do this at least once every trip. Having little hair left on my head it really hurts. So sorry can't advise you on this, other than to leave the double bed up. Oh and ignore sarcastic comments or feigned sympathy from whoever shares your Eriba with you......!

Red and white hazard tape on the edge of the pop top and top of the door frame

not as pretty as the bunting but effective

I'm still doing it after nine years.

The pipe insulation tip for the door opening is a good one and can prevent spectacular blood loss if the fly screen is fitted.

Put your hand on the top of the door opening and walk under your hand. You will never bang your head again
