Is the new toilet block at C & MC site at Penhros the best around?

Hi
I don't want to get a reputation as being bodily function fixated but have just returned from a week at Penhros and the new toilet block is simply fabulous. It would not be out of place in a 4* hotel. the whole build reaks of good design and quality. Didn't think to take any pictures and you know taking photographs in toilet blocks isn't seen as a PC activity.

We were told that the wardens on each site have the say on their interpretation of the Covid safety measures Here 3 women with bands could use it at any one time and the men had a 2 man limit. There was a bit of chuntering amongst the men about having to wait at key times but it wasn't too bad and there was also a brilliant Family Room with full facilities to use. Kath had no problem with the ladies I always felt safe using the men's facilities which I didn't always fell at West Ayton the week before. Once we get back to some sort of norm the 6 showers, 5 WCs, 4 urinals & 5 wash rooms will cope easily with the number of men on site.

The Penhros visit was enhanced by us meeting the lovely Helen & Andrew in their gleaming Triton - in more normal conditions the wine would have flowed. We hope to see them next season.

If you're doing the grand tour of toilets, Mike, you must include a visit to the gent's at The Philharmonic Dining Rooms (The Phil), Liverpool.

The pub and restaurant are excellent, too - although I'm not sure they'll let you in wearing flip-flops and your towel wrapped round your waist

Zitat
The Philharmonic Dining Rooms (The Phil), Liverpool.

But does that mean you have to fart in unison?

Not necessarily in unison but definitely in the same key.

hi John

I know them well, they are a piece of art work. I love the whole pub - it has a great atmosphere. In normal times we go to the theatre and live concerts in Liverpool quite a lot, and always try to manage a pint in the Phil.

In contrast we went to see Rhianon Giddings in concert at the Grand Central Hall in Liverpool on a bitterly cold night last November (I think) and the upstairs Gents toilets were the absolute pits and an embarrassment to use. A real shame in another of Liverpool's beautiful old venues

In 2014 we went on the Orient Express from London down through Kent to the south coast. I think we ate fairly non stop there and back.
I obviously needed the loo and took these pictures. It was posh. Actually, the whole carriage was posh.

We usually go to the Phil for their new year's eve concert, and if we're early enough pop into the pub for a warmer.

Might see you in there sometime, Mike
