The government instructions/guidelines/advise are very unclear and contradictory. I quote:-
Tier Three
• If you live in a Tier Three area - which at the moment is only the Liverpool City Region (Liverpool, Wirral, Sefton, Knowsley, St Helens, Halton council areas) - you're being told to avoid travelling outside of your local area - unless it's for work, education or caring responsibilities
• Government advice says you should avoid staying overnight in another part of the UK - but can still go on holiday outside of you local area
• If you do go on holiday, you should only do this with people you live or bubble with
• People from Tier One and Tier Two areas are urged to avoid staying overnight in a Tier Three area
So, as far as I can understand, next Thursday as Tier Three inhabitants, I along with my lovely wife can travel to Devon [Tier One] where we will be working on our sons smallholding and will be staying in our van. If we decide to have a day off then we are allowed to do so. We are allowed to eat in there dwelling as our numbers are less than six

Well I see you've all lost your sense of humour. This was a joke......I added the "Low " in after. Some fell on stoney ground. I would add that before I get the "this is no joking matter" treatment, my wife is still suffering from the after effects of covid as am I but less so. If we can laugh..........

David, Viv,
humuor is still alive up here, don't worry. I did receive a lovely image form a "friend" down south where we lived until a few years ago. I'm guessing if you are into social media you will have come across the map of England with the three tiers lines running horizontally across it. The message includes choce language and I could not post the image. If you are tolerant of abusive language and want a copy please PM me.

We are supposed to be going to Knaresborough C & MC site for a few days this weekend to celebrate Kath's birthday. As of this evening we can still go as we are in Tier 2, but who knows what will happen in the next 24 hours.
This isn't a forum for discussing politics so all I will say the uncertainty is not conducive to good health, mental or physical.

After reading the government website and interpretations in The Times and on the BBC website of what was and was not allowed, it was possible that we could make our trip, despite what the logic said.
Today further interpretation or clarification of this has been in the media, so I contacted the C&MC. They gave me an immediate answer. NO. So we are not going. The lovely Mrs eribaMotters is now in a serious sulk as we will not be seeing our lovely son, but that's life. We both still have a pulse and now we will not need to take a fortune in alcohol, chocolate and other gifts down south, because that is what mothers have to do.
Prior to the news of the new tier system breaking we received a letter about a covid survey. We are both being tested every week for a month and every month for a year. We also get paid for this. I suppose this is some consolation for the £40K of retirement savings that I've lost in recent months, but as I said we both still have a pulse.

Not seeing family is the hardest part of this. We had a reasonable amount of contact with our middle daughter as her family was shielding due to granddaughters heart condition, they only live 30 miles away. We have seen the youngest once this year, after she isolated for a week beforehand to be on the safe side and we all still worried. The eldest daughter and her son haven’t been seen in the flesh since January. She is in the Forces and is exposed constantly, her son has changed from a chubby boy into a rangy teenager in the last 9 months.
We are not alone, I suspect everyone on the Forum has a similar story. This is the price we are all paying but we do have our health and hopefully this will continue.
We’re about to clean, drain down and cover the Eriba for the winter. We had one 7 night trip away but to be honest we didn’t enjoy it all that much. We couldn’t really go anywhere, all facilities were closed on site so no chatting at the washing up. This year has been a wash out but we live in hope.

I think we did better than most. 7, 3, 2 and 21 day trips, so 33 days in all. Well short of the 14 weeks plus we had planned of which 11 were to be abroad.

I had my first trip of the year this week - to Jandi for damp check and service. Anticipate that Nicola may enforce stricter lockdowns on travel shortly and suggested to Sandy that he may have my caravan until March! Bear in mind we already have stricter restrictions than south of the border.
We have family in Somerset and Devon but apart from regular FaceTime calls have not seen them in the flesh.
We are still breathing so are not complaining.

I agree with Julie. I will check the weather forecast and set a date to cover up Tardis II. Still, I shan't have to worry about flat spots on my tyres over winter :)

We are booked to go to Chatsworth tomorrown and received this e mail yesterday
In light of the recent Government announcements on local lockdowns, we wanted to provide you with some information and advice to help you plan your stays on Club campsites, in line with the latest Government information.
The safety and well being of our guests, staff and local communities, remains our top priority and so we ask for your continued support to keep our campsites as safe as possible. In order to support this, all members will be asked to register their attendance at our sites through the NHS Test & Trace App to record their visit. In addition, we may check the residential addresses on our system to confirm arriving members are not from an area that does not permit travel.
If you are affected by these new Government announcements and have a booking which is affected by these guidelines, please cancel or amend your booking for free to allow other members to benefit from the availability.
Please remember to check our information page before booking or traveling to campsites.
ENGLAND
Following the latest Government announcements for England regarding local lockdowns and the introduction of the Local COVID alert levels the majority of our Club campsites are within the Local Alert level of Medium and remain open to members and guests.
Members and guests who reside in a Local Alert level of Very High should not travel to any of the Club’s other campsites whilst the alert is in place but can continue to stay at a campsite within their own very high alert area.
Please also be aware that on arrival at one of our campsites that is within a very high alert area, our sites teams have been asked to monitor home address details to ensure we are keeping all of our guests as safe as possible.
WALES
With effect from Friday 16th October at 6pm, travel into Wales is forbidden if you reside in an area in England that is classified with either a High or Very High Alert Level.
Following the latest Welsh Government announcements on county borough lockdowns, members and guests who reside within the county boroughs of each Club campsite can continue to stay at the site.
If you are travelling through a lockdown area to reach a destination outside of the borough then you will be able to travel through, but only if there is no alternative route available.
SCOTLAND
Whilst Scotland have introduced a number of local restrictions in response to COVID, these do not currently affect any of our Club campsites.
Please remember to check our information page before booking or traveling to campsites.
Whilst we understand the inconvenience and frustration this may cause, we thank you in advance for ensuring you comply with the requirements above. This will ensure we continue to be seen as a highly responsible organisation by Government and enforcing authorities, allowing us to keep our sites operating and welcoming you where the restrictions allow.
Can I also take this opportunity to say a big thank you to all of our members for your ongoing support this year and for your kind messages and comments. By renewing membership and making bookings, you’ve enabled us to continue to be able to provide the products and services you love and enjoy to help you with your touring.

Hi Mick. Chatsworth.
We were there at the end of August and it was a bit of a trial.
1) New arrivals cannot turn up before 1pm because of the single track road.
2) Existing customers are advised not to leave site in their cars between 1pm and 3pm because of new arrivals.
3) Male toilet block closed from 10am to 11am for cleaning therefore causing queues as early as 8am because of the restriction on numbers in the block due to Covid.
4) Female toilet block closed from 11am to 12 noon for the reason stated above.
There are two service toilets there however which remained open for "emergencies".
Therefore it all felt rather like a prison where we couldn't get a lay in unless we decided to go out sight seeing after noon and before 1pm. Coupled with that, nearly all the surrounding roads were being dug up and repaired.
Nice wardens though and a nice campsite during normal times. Very shady though so pick a good spot.
