Glass is heavy!!

I picked up a jar of mint sauce the other day and was amazed at how heavy it was, we all carry various jars etc in our vehicles and there will be various plastic jars online. Just wondered if anyone has found a brilliant high quality brand, ideally light & easy to fill. I'm just trying to lighten the load where its not needed!

Just come off the web & phone & think i have the answer, Lakeland ltd who have various shops & it seems some better quality bits. I hate things that drop to bits the first time you use them.

A wine bottle weighs as much as the contents, 0.75 kg, so if you had 3 or 4 jars that would be about the same.
Why not just pack one spare pair of trousers less and you would save more than the reduced glass weight of 6 or 8 jars.

Yes, and they are even lighter now as we cannot bring back more than 6 x 3L each. Don't get me started!
