I've just checked the underbed hatch on our fixed bed 2017 Triton 430. It will allow 74cm width, just, but what about the central underbed support post. You could try storing it from the inside by lifting the mattress and laying it between the bed slats and underside of the mattress. We carry ours in the back of the car but we don't have two children with us.
Our table is a similar size and for two it is good, but would be OK for two children as well. The 80 x 60 would not be big enough.

Thanks Colin. I can't face sending it back, so we're going to see how it works. We got some nice looking chairs in the sales too https://www.campz.es/outwell-campo-tabur...ojo-912651.html
Now back to the question of the garage. As those of you who have seen this thread will know, we are considering getting an underground gragae space for our Eriba (photos earlier on this feed). But today we went to a warehouse/old factory yard where they store campers and caravans. There is a choice of a) keeping them outside/completely uncovered, or b) in an area covered on three sides - so kind of like an open double garage with a high roof.
The place seems quite secure with a private lockable access for caravan/camper owners. And if someone was going there to steal a caravan, they would have about 50 to choose from, which maybe makes it a better option than keeping it in a garage.
We're kind of doubting what would be the best choice;
1. Outside with no fixed cover (so we'd need to buy a caravan cover) - cheapest option around 40€/month
2. Outside with a fixed roof (would we still need a cover?) - around 60€/month
3. Buying an underground garage space (would we still need a cover?) - We would need to buy the garage space.
Any thoughts? Thanks.

I would say anything is better than exposed to the elements outside and as regards to cover or not, well 100 Euro for a generic cover is not a lot to pay to keep the van clean and stop prying eyes.

Have a read of this. I went the generic route as a made to measure was expensive. It is a bit big but pulls snugly with an extra couple of webbing straps. Also in your situation it cannot get caught by the wind. Kampa Prestige [generic] Caravan Cover
Currently available for £79.95 here Werbung: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Kampa-Caravan...PEAAOSw9PFbxeVX

I hope you have all had a good Covid-free Xmas. And I'm sure, like me, you are looking forward to closing the door on 2020 later this week.
Thanks for the links Colin - that's really helpful.
We bought our Eriba from a dealer in Barcelona and we weren't able to request a stoneguard protector. There was the possibility that it could be ordered from the factory and fitted, but we were told that the cost wouldn't be worth it. I have since found these; http://pro-teccoversonline.co.uk/protec-...ing-jacket.html does anyone have any experience with these covers/protectors? If it works it seems to me like a good option at a similar price to having a stoneguard protector added on a bespoke model.
Thanks and best wishes. Neil

Some owners of the smooth silver vans use them and seem pleased. I considered one for my dimple finish van, but decided against it. You need to use the supplied sticky pad mounts on the edges. I got the manufacturer to send me a sample and I don't think you could get a good fix on the vans dimpled surface.
If you use the forum search facility you should be able to find the post.

Thanks for that. I found the thread. I'd be interested to know if anyone with a white dimpled van has had a good/bad experience with these protec towing covers. However, I take your point on board Colin.

Just another comment on the underground storage consideration. Are there any sharply-defined ramps? I have found some steep slopes over the years, and you should remember that the wheel is in the centre of the van, rather than at each corner as with most modern cars. This risks either grounding of the rear when going up, or the top rear hitting the roof when starting down the slope
Different motor movers have different maximum inclines also.- CaMC have a great comparison article; it’s a few years old now but most of the models are still current..
I hope this isn’t a problem for you, but better to plan than hear that awful scraping noise.:-)

Colin is correct in saying that the edges are fixed with a "snad" fastener each side which is stuck on using a 3M adhesive backing.
However, there is nothing to stop you using a self-tapping stainless steel snad fastener which can be bought online for pennies. Obviously it would mean puncturing the skin and dabbing a drop of mastic behind the screw but this is no different to the dozens of holes around the gutter and waist trims
For better strength and peace of mind you could use a threaded insert (also known as a blind rivet) to which a suitably threaded fastener would be attached.

Thanks for the replies about the towing cover.
I called Protec today to ask about their towing covers and spoke to a guy called Peter. He says that they haven't had any negative feedback regarding these covers nor any issues regarding how they "stick" to the caravan (neither with the smooth nor dimpled versions). Peter offered to send me out some sample fasteners to see what I thought - but as I don't have the caravan yet, there's not a lot I can do with them!
I also called "Specialised Covers" but they confirmed that they didn't produce any towing covers - but they did make regular caravan covers for Eriba tourings.
