Just come back from our second only (2 day) outing in our 2014 Troll 530, over two years from when we did our first outing! (and as caravaners). A family illness, and then COVID meant our little Eriba was in storage all that time. We had no opportunity to winterize it or put the cover on, so this year we had it serviced and washed ready for it's outing.
We drove all of 5 mins from the storage site to a Caravan & Motorhome Club Site. A steep learning curve for us novice caravaner's, having completely forgotten everything we learnt from our handover at Automotive Leisure, and our first trip straight after. It took us an hour to get the motor-move to work until we rang AL who asked about the red isolation key - which we had no idea what was for on our keyring.
We had a wonderful couple of days, blessed with lovely weather, and confirmed why we bought our Eriba
Hope to see and talk to many more of fellow Eriba owners in our future adventures.

The learning curve continues. 18 years on and it still happens to us. Last week I forgot to put the screw top on the onboard 40L water tank before the lovely Mrs eribaMotters filled it and part of the front of the van. Good job we've had a week of warm weather.

For some unknown reason we had no spoons with us last outing. Trying to make a cuppa or eating breakfast with a knife and fork is quite awkward. They are not the easiest thing to find in a small village.
Here's a tip, look for a charity shop. Saved us.

Hi Clive and welcome to the Forum
We've all been there especially when we have not used the van for a long time. For reasons similar to yours we have had very few trips in the Troll in the last 18 months and none since last August.
When we uncovered our 540 we felt like total beginners again and had to sit down and think carefully just last week about everything we needed to do starting a new season. It didn't come quickly or easily......................!
When we arrived we didn't think we had done too bad looking like we had just forgotten the mixed herbs, the garlic crusher, the sweet chillie sauce and the beach chairs.
That was until the second day when Kath washed up in the sink after breakfast and I went into the bathroom to clean my teeth. The shower tray was awash with various remains of our high fibre breakfast cereal mix - not a pretty sight, and rather disturbing.
Thank goodness that something in my aging & malfunctioning brain clicked, and I remembered what I had done.
I normally put an old wine bottle stopper in the dirty water drain pipe to keep any creepy crawlers and mice out. However this year I had got creative and replaced the stopper by double wrapping one of Kath's old pop socks around the bottom of the pipe. When I had tested that the dirty water waste container was in the right place some water had trickled through but 3 washings up had sent enough food bits down the sink to totally block this. When I peeled the pop sock off there was a gush of dirty water which reached almost Biblical proportions which landed all over my stylish blue Crocs......not a pretty sight.
I wonder what it will be next time?
Happy travels

Do you travel with water in your onboard tank? I've heard theyre not supposed to have water in them when youre travelling since theyre not watertight amd would allow water to splosh out of the tank into the van

You are correct. It is not a good idea to travel with this tank full even though it is glued to the floor and has retaining blocks The 30kg weight would be unwelcome, it could easily slosh around and the vent hole in the top of the screwcap would leak water out.
My method is I put a few watering cans full into the tank, prime the hot water boiler and pipes, then pull the plug in the bottom of the tank. This means I have about 8L of water locked in the system around the van that cannot move about. When we arrive on site it is simply a matter of a few cans of water into the tank and we are ready.
