Winter Fridge covers
Winter Fridge covers

Finally picked up our 2022 Troll 530 and the fridge vent panels are grey. Has anyone managed to find a pair of dark grey winter vent covers, plenty of white out there but can't find grey
Thanks

They're only necessary if you intend to use the van in temperatures below 8C. Most Eriba's get laid up over the winter and covers are of no use when the fridge isn't running.

I'm sure I read somewhere that they were intended to prevent spray from entering the vents on Pucks with front mounted fridges when towing in the wet.

They're quite useful when washing the van - they also help keep spiders etc out of the back of the fridge when not being used.

If they're fitted to Pucks with their forward facing fridge vents, they're not really 'winter vents'. I mean precipitation isn't unknown outside winter.
Thousands and thousands of vans drive through torrential rain with no ill effects without them when the fridge vents are on the sides and if you want to keep spiders out of the cavity then you'd have to have it sealed even when in summer use..

True, but rain generally arrives in a downward direction whereas as hose can - and does - point upwards (albeit perhaps accidentally) thus increasing the chance of a lot of water going where you don't really want it. I normally add a little sign saying 'No Spiders' to the cover and that seems to work well.

The only time I've used a hose on a caravan has been when I have a washing brush on the end, which dissipates the waterflow. Using a 'bare' hose or jet risks damaging the thin paintwork skin and even putting dents in the alloy panels.

I doubt that Lowdhams discount them though. An online caravan parts website will surely do a better deal.

We use ours all year round hence why I am asking about Winter fridge covers!
