to around £420.00 inc postage ..................available on their website and ebay

I noticed they were a lot cheaper, I wonder if the material is different or the poles are steel instead of aluminium. I paid £618 delivered February 2013 for my Porch awning, so that is a £200 pound saving.....

I have also noticed they no longer sell the full size AL/NR awnings

Hi, We have the same awning, but purchased ours second hand and have only used it once so far (we are new to caravanning). We put it up between 2 of us last month and took about 10 minutes to put up. We are away next week again for a few days and will try to put up on my own and see how long it takes!! The only problem we found was putting in the ground hooks to hold the skirt down, which was quite difficult as we either hammered the skirt or the hooks. We have purchased some elastic hooks which we have fixed to the loops in the hope now we can put the stakes in and be able to easily hook over the loops to keep the skirt down (hope you understand what I'm talking about!!) .

Thanks, I'm on the lookout for something that I can put up and use in colder weather and I always travel alone.

Sorry Nev, I've just seen your question, yes the AL Porch awning is easy to put up. I always do it on my own while Mrs Poptop gets the van ready, I just need a bit of help to get the awning near the van when it is made up, only because my arms are a bit short.., I'm sure your a bit bigger than me. It probably takes me about 40 minutes from out of the bag and pegged down.We both find it big enough to eat in and put all our odds and ends in. A bit of a tip, when you attach the awning to the van via the zip on the rail do the little wing nuts next before you peg it down, that way you will get a bit of slack on each end. It will all become clear when you put it up....

Well it arrived this morning .........so whats in the box?

A bag of poles .......alloy, I'm a little concerned after putting the frame up that they may not be as sturdy as steel ones.

Those wing nuts drove us mad! Trying to fit them late on a windy afternoon and constantly dropping them in wet grass was the end. Don't bother now and use cable ties - cut them loose when we want to dismantle and make sure we have a good stock for next time. Otherwise the awning NR model is fine though one ally pole did bend. By then AL had stopped ordering from NR who could only replace it with a steel pole - which also works well.
