finally the sun is hiding and the sky is not threatening rain.
am going to sedately go outside and climb the ladder to inspect the eriba roof, may just rub a cloth over with some shiny stuff..
now where is sun glasses to stop snow blindness.
a cuppa inside eriba would be the preferred job but never mind

You 2 May think you have problems but we will be doing a day trip to Wales on Saturday to clean Doo-Dah, get him ready for our trip and mainly because I just miss him. It wont feel as bad taking our flask and butties with him now living in a holiday place rather than 20 minutes up the motorway on an industrial estate

polishing pad fell apart so quickly fixed with miss bling.. and resumed the step ladder, radio was helping to keep pace..
no need to worry Brian march was the last roof ordeal. it was covered in harvest dust so needed some attention
Agger be careful up there watch out for roses from one who knows

Going to clean the canvas and retreat it today as yes the sun is shining and no wind. How unusual after that stormy interlude. But for how long. Now putting on layers instead of just tee shirt and shorts. Hopeful of some more trips out before we cover her away.

No choccy although I d love the stuff. Cleaned the canvas with a light bleach, then Fabsil spray on when it was dry and looks a treat. Put the pop top down any minute now before the rain starts.

Please don't worry about what I am going to say here!
I was warned against using Fabsil by various people both on here and I expect you know where I mean! However, I have checked since at no less than 4 Chandlery / Sail Makers who fabricate different items with Sunbrella fabric, and each of them told me to use Fabsil. The Chandlers were 3 at Baltic Wharf Bristol and the last one was in Exmouth, I take it they would know better than someone who only maybe treats the canvas once in a lifetime of Eriba ownership!
I hope that helps someone as the 303 fabric guard can be expensive and tricky to use, as it does'nt like fibreglass! So you either have to spend 396.7 hours masking off your roof OR take the canvas off the van, abiut 40 minutes to remove and roughly the same to replace, easy peasy even for a useless diy'er like me.

All the guff is here
Apparently that incompatibility means applying a silicone treatment is likely to produce a patchy result at best.
As far as it not liking fibreglass is concerned, instructions elsewhere say it shouldn't be used on fibreglass. They also say it shouldn't be used on several other things too, like vinyl, rubber and suede. But that is used on those things as a treatment per se rather than not allowed to come into contact with, which is a different thing.
The advice for accidental contact (i.e. overspray) is simply to remove it with a cloth before it dries.
I'm not trying to be difficult, honest

was going to comment on the fabsil but thought would pass
there is a tale of woe, regarding using wrong product, and it did hurt the wallet when a new canvas bought to solve. it was fully mentioned somewhere else.
going to keep using 303 as it really does preform, the tilley hat that was reproofed proves this.
just applied some wax and buffed the roof,

I know I used 303 on mine but as I say I have since checked as stated. Hopefully the photo is large enough to be read.
