Reich Motor Mover
Hello,
We'd like to have a motor mover fitted to our 310, but would like to have some advice on which model to choose. I understand that Reich seems to be the best fit with an Eriba (as it needs special brackets), but there seems to be several Reich models to choose from. I guess the lighter the better, so I reduce the payload of the 310 by the least amount. The battery and spare wheel must already add to the weight a lot.
We have a leisure battery already fitted, does the mover draw power from this? Also, I understand we should use someone who is used to working with Eribas to do the fitting as it is a specialised job.
Thanks,
Philip.
Eriba Familia 310 owner.

Just to start the ball rolling Philip, yes you're correct in thinking that a motor mover of any make has to have special additional brackets supplied so that it can be fitted to an Eriba. The mover will take power from your on-board battery but dependant on the rating of your battery, you may have to upgrade it.
There are a number of companies out there who will fit a mover at your home address so without being too specific, it would be useful to know which area of the country you live in.

We had fitted the Reich Comfort mover to our Troll
it allows drive roller operation from either side of
the caravan.
We have a Truma now on our Bailey, with a similar
either side operation of the drive rollers.

Although quite a way down country, this company had a good reputation and quote:- "specialises in non-standard chassis caravan mover fitments." They also cover the UK.
Midland Motor Movers
I'm sure somebody on Eribafolk has used them and rates them but I can't remember who it was.
Others may see it differently but I think your 95ah battery will be OK as you've only got a small van to move.

We never had any indication that the 80ah gel battery we used to have in our Troll was in any way insufficient for the job. Unless the battery fitment is non-standard - and in some cases even if it is - it'll be charged en route by the car and by the onboard electrics while on hook-up, so there shouldn't be a problem.

When muggins contrived to turn the 80ah battery gel into scrambled egg I replaced it with a 95ah AGM one, fully expecting that to do the job with a little bit in reserve, and that seems to have been the case so far.

We used Midland movers, he came to Bradford fitted the mover and did a realy God job.
We have a 95 AH battery, we use a an optimiser charger and it is connected all the time the electric is connected, they are a lot cheaper than the Eriba system, a lot easier to instal and just as good.
We have Feeling and we fitted the Al-Co mamoutch mover, the chassis is already drilled to take it. Works very well.
The feeling does not come with an onboard battery if any one need some hints on how to fitt one with a charging img system I can possibly help.⚡️⚡️

Hi Bigloue,
Do you mean this one

Eriba Familia 310 owner.
Yes that is the one, sorry about the spelling.
We chose this one because of the ground clearance, some movers hang a lot lower and and hit Speed ramps etc., especially some of the French ones which seem twice as high as in the UK.

It looks good.
From the details:
The integrated chassis version of AL-KO Mammut has been designed to fit within the longitudinal chassis member on recent AL-KO chassis with an embossed 'M'. In this case there is NO reduction in ground clearance. The overall system weight (without battery) for this version only 29 kilograms. The mover is fitted in front of the axle protecting the drive unit from stone chip damage.
Do you know if they fit a Touring Familia 310. I guess it has an AL-KO chassis. Is it type M?

They do specify the newer chassis but I think they can be fitted to earlier ones, give the supplier a ring.
Has anyone fitted jacking plates on their van.

Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong but the Eriba Touring Chassis is a non standard AL-KO chassis and that's the problem....................or is it?
As we've not got a mover fitted we're not the best people to advise you but when we researched the subject a couple of years ago, many people were talking about Purpleline Movers and Autowfix was mentioned as offering a reasonable price. Don't forget though that the additional brackets needing to be supplied and fitted could add £150 + to the cost.
