Perfect Pitching!
You may be ok as the others around you may be busy enjoying themselves and not at all bothered about your playing and dare I say, they may even enjoy it. We were parked up in the middle of people that had booked for the whole month of September which it seems they do every year. They were having things their way or no way and that was that. The sad thing about it all was that Marks ambition is to go busking with his banjo and although there was no actual audience that day it would have been his first time playing outside our home. I just hope his confidence wasn't shattered by the experience as he is very different to me and can be pretty sensitive.I am making good progress with my ukulele I can nearly play "happy birthday to you" on it. After practising hard I intended taking it down to our daughters on Thursday as it was her birthday but the weather was icy and I am not very well at the moment so I didn't get to play for her.

Thank you, as usual I don't do things by half. I had a scan due to having months of pain, results came back that I have a gallstones the size of a golf ball in my gallbladder. I did keep insisting that the pain I was experiencing was more like imminent childbirth and so was surprised that I had a gallstones. After being rushed to the doctors having had 3hrs of horrendous pain on Thursday its now looking like a kidney or urinary tract infection. To top it all the antibiotics are making me sick. Oh heck, looks like some more surgery for me this year. On a happier note, springs just round the corner and we will all be back on our travels,

Hi ellen, thats what Jen had last year on holiday, hours of pain followed by admission to Barnstaple hospital, she is now due to have her gall bladder out, which should be day surgery we just need to now which day. She had one of those laughing operations 10 years ago and thought all her problems were finished I lighten the load by telling her "she's getting old"
You keep well and take care,

Thanks everyone, I am struggling a.little lately as I am normally pretty healthy but things are.not great. As I originally thought, the pain I am feeling isnt from the gallstones its looking like I have kidney stones as well so yet another scan looks to be on the cards. What's driving me nuts is not being able to get to my Zumba and Tai Chi classes as often as I like. No point moaning on, there are plenty of people far worse off than me so I need to just crack on with it all. Keep telling myself that it will soon be spring, as soon as this bad weather clears we will pop to Wales to see Doo- Dah, he always makes us feel better

Hi ellen, if you have kidney stones you have my sympathy! I've had 5 operations for them, all my operations were in a short space of time and were in a British Military Hospital in Rinteln, Germany. I had been doing a lot of running and other fitness training as part of a course I went on and passed.
My operations were done under general anaesthetic (may be different now, in any case it's a slightly different op for men than women)
My advice would be to drink plenty of water, wee clear at least once a day, and get good pain killers from your doctor (when I was admitted I was on Morphine, and as is normal with Military administration of that drug, I had a large "M" written on my forehead, I think they used permanent marker)
Best wishes and keep well,
Jen & Gray

On the way home to Scotland from France our last stop was usually at a CC site in the north of England. Perfect pitching' was rigidly enforced here, as I found out. We pitched our caravan on the hard-standing, more-or-less centred on the white pole at the back of the pitch. After we had completed the set-up (gas, water, electricity etc) our neighbour appeared and complained that we were slightly off-centre and so were 'encroaching' on their privacy. Without further ado, they went off to fetch the warden who arrived with his measuring tape to establish the facts. Yes we were an inch or two off centre but not a problem, Neighbour however got more than he bargained for as he had parked with his caravan to one side of the white pole with the awning on the other. You might have said his outfit was dead-centre on the pitch. However, this apparently was hazardous and we had the doubtful pleasure of watching our neighbour take down his awning, move his caravan on to the centre position and then re-do his awning. My other memory of that site was the immaculate positioning of all the caravans - all exactly lined up to within an inch of each other. It was all too much and we never went back - and we resigned from the CC soon after and joined the other, friendlier lot. Balance in all things, I say!
