Otherwise there is a lot of internal trim that needs to be removed to run through to the front.

Thanks - that make sense! My battery is indeed in the rear and about 12 inches from the rear lights and bumper so looks like an easy(!) job. Just looked at my more recently made VW Golf and it looks like there are plug in sockets located on the back of the light cluster which I guess is where one would attach the custom made loom ends from the tow bar socket.
I will give Pf Jones a call

Ours was fitted at home one morning. Have damaged a few walls and stuff since, but the tow bar looks fine and still works. Must remember to give it the usual wash, brush up and polish before towing on Thursday, prevents the groaning and moaning. Trying to get Agger down to do it for me, but he's getting lazy in his old age.

I resemble that remark
Tow bars, I fitted one to our old Shogun after Bosch in Germany messed up the initial fitting by leaving the bleeper box hanging inn the rear wheel arch easy enough if your competant. Most if not all cars are pre drilled to take tow bars, the electrics are easy to follow on a car specific diagram.
When we had an alarm fitted to a previous car an an older caravan the guy was trying to solder thick wiires together with a mobile gas soldering iron which was clearly not up to the job!!! I got my own electric one out and he used that to perform the deed.
I would go straight to a tow bar specialist and cut our the stealer sorry dealer just my 2 pennyworth
Likes to wax and have a smooth finish! Has an empty space where once a very polished Eriba stood😎

Modern towbar electrics can be very complicated.
My Westfalia removable system, for example, has its own computer hidden behind a panel in the side of the boot that senses automatically when a trailer is attached (through resistance of the additional bulb filaments(?) - earlier versions had a microswitch). The computer also modifies the car's normal electronic stability control (ESC) to trailer stability control (TSC) which operates on a different set of parameters and no doubt does other things of which I'm not aware.
All of this electric jiggery-pokery has to be programmed into the car's ECU and requires specialist equipment and knowledge.
Earlier vehicles were much simpler to work on so were a reasonable DIY prospect but I reckon modern systems on complex vehicles are best left to the experts.

Modern CAN bus systems are VERY difficult and need specialist wiring, relays etc, and, as mentioned, may require re-programming of the tow car's ECU !
However basic road lights on older vehicles are reasonably easy to deal with :) - general purpose kits are readily available to splice into the appropriate circuit - if a Fridge/Charging circuit is required don't forget to use a Relay which prevents the battery from draining when the engine is NOT running ! ! Also don't neglect heavy amperage wiring AND equally heavy EARTH return cables ! ! (good earthing too, for the road lights and indicator circuits) :)

OK. Presuming the rear of the Puck is something like our 530 Troll, here's a kicking off point at least (post 1 of this thread).

Ok still pondering on what tow bar I need. At least until next week when my fitter gets back of his 3 week holiday. Yes I did mean 3.
As to coffee table and bed I don't mix these as I am very clumsy and would have a wet bed. Only through spilling coffee. As I can already here sniggers and who wet the bed jokes.
Hope you get it sorted flowerpot fairy

Thank you all. Especially love the little hook on table Randa. Where did you buy the aluminium strips from? Hmmm...thinking...I could attach a short leg to rest on the bed as the idea is to have tea in bed! Et voila!
