Hi Sparkywig and welcome to Eribafolk. 
Ooh we like projects and most of us are very good at them. We can sit back in our warm easy chairs and give advice and moral support till the cows come home. 
You just have to ask Mark Fitzgerald. He came on here with a project in the autumn of 2014 and we gave him loads of help

You asked about spares for classic Eribas. A lot of people use these guys:-http://www.eribasar.de/eribasar/dichtungen/ The website will translate into English thanks to Google. Probably a useful source for your VW Bus a swell.
