some of the issues with other makes over a period of years are
gas regulators
electrics
roofs leaking,
water ingress
beds falling apart
cushions seats filling departing
doors not fit for purpose,
electrics discharging batterys
pumps running all time,
gel cracking
wheels falling off
floors delaminating
shower trays cracking
blown air heating failing to work
water heater failing
fridges failing
water tanks leaking
most of these problems were covered in caravan magazines, others were through conversation at rallies.

am still happy with eriba,

A friend of mine recently bought a new white box from a well known supplier in the East Midllands. He was very happy with his old van but SWMBO decided they needed a new one. Having taken it in February for a weekend try out he discovered things wrong with it and contacted the supplier listing his grievances and asking why the faults had not been picked by the supplier pre delivery. He was told "unofficially" that vans were let out with known faults to customers but the faults would then be corrected under warranty meaning that the supplier didn't incur any costs themselves. I would have thought that any faults discovered pre delivery to customers would have been charged back to the manufacturer thus negating the cost side of it but my friend would not lie about this so I accept his comment. Food for thought perhaps!

If people feel sufficiently aggrieved about the perceived drop in quality there's more they can do than send an e-mail - both Hymer and Hymer Eriba have Facebook pages. If you can complain in an e-mail there's no reason not to do it on Facebook, and a Facebook complaint gets read by many, many more people.

And if you feel really strongly about this, don't just send an e-mail to Hymer's inbox. Send one to the company CEO.

Absolutely agree, with both the Facebook and CEO contact suggestion. They neither like nor can afford bad publicity. "The noisiest wheel gets most oil"
