If the caravanstore is not suitable for the pre 2009 Troll, can you recommend one that will be suitable please? Thank you

The Caravanstore will work with pre and post 2009 vans, it's just that you have to think what you are doing as it will get in the way.
An alternative favoured by many is the Isabella Shadow.
The ideal solution is to fix another length of awning rail 100mm higher up on your pre 2009 van and use this for the Caravanstore. This is what I have done with previous vans.[photo 2]
On my 2017 this is not possible due to the curvature of the roof so I am now using an Isabella Shadow when a full awning is not in place, despite my preference for the Caravanstore.
I do in fact also have one of these that I leave attached to the back of the van offering protection for bikes and clothes rail if/when it rains. [photo 1]
