First Trip in the new Puck
I've been away many times in the (now sold) VW Camper but the Eriba experience is something altogether different. Loving it!!

Quote: Taffy wrote in post #7Don't bother. They're horrible things.
Get yourself a hitch cover to protect against the elements.
The hitch is robust enough to survive the elements without one. If it wasn't it'd fall to bits while you were towing in the rain.
They don't serve any purpose other than looking pants and to provide free advertising for the dealer the caravan was bought from or the make of the caravan itself.
You don't need the former and you already know the latter.

Thanks for the advice Taffy.
As a lightweight summer camper (and only if it's not raining!) I think a hitch cover would we a waste of money.
For the second point, I can see that the aerial looks like it's going into the hitch but it's just the way the cable is laying.

Really re the hitch cover. I thought it protected the electrics, but I hate advertising for the companies that sell them so have a Welsh one!!!
For what it's worth I reckon the electrics would get wetter - much wetter - from the spray behind the car than from a bit of rain when unplugged and parked up.
It's a matter of taste, really.
I just don't like them, and that's partly because every other bugger has one
And that white box is one of these.

thats a god little box. I use my cable coming in to connect via one of the flat cable sections that can allow you to close the window on it. Not yet found out how it is in winter weather, but my track record of TV in caravan is a little sketchy.
