they look like small trailer wheels to reduce height, to match the vw

considering 1977 the lack of options we have today, would consider eriba would most likely fit a standard size tyre across similar size weights of caravan,
so am thinking puck, pan, familia, size will depending on your maximum towable caravan weight
is there a plate on axle probably not but thought would ask?

I also wondered if the Trailer tyres fitted are not suitable for a caravan as the wall strength for a trailer compared to Caravan may be inadequate.

just spoken to a caravan part dealer. ...he seems to think because of her age she should be wearing 13" wheels because she has a b&b chassis. ...he said most caravans of that era up until 1980's used them

Hi Marie. Still can't find any information.

I'm not the best person to advise you on this but it does look like you should purchase some new wheels.

That's not straightforward as you'll need to measure your existing wheel's PCD (pitch circle diameter). Presumably your little wheels fit the hub perfectly?

You'll also need to see whether your existing wheels have an offset or not. I don't know if you or yours is familiar with these terms.

Not to frighten you but to give you a flavour for the subject, this forum entered a long discussion about 18 months ago regarding tyres and wheel sizes for a Puck :- inner tubes on 10 inch wheels yes or no ?

Perhaps the most interesting links to be taken from that thread are:-http://www.albatowing.co.uk/trailer-part...s/wheel-rims-10 where there is a selection of wheels from 10" to 14".

Here is an explanation and how to measure the PCD and offset of the wheels. http://www.wheelfitment.eu/what-is-the-PCD.html

This is where I'd be grateful for other forum members help in an attempt to resolve your problem.

Randa

measured her wheels today after advice from our mechanic.....she has 8" wheels....so ordered a new set of 10" x 500 4 ply with a weight load of 355kg ....these should be better for her....I'll add pictures as soon as they are fitted.....we considered 13" but these just seem far to big for her....I would like to thank everyone for their help x
