Autumn Leaves!

After a recent weekend away where the site was a tree glade it deposited rather a lot of leaves and some remained on the roof due to the wet weather and clung on dearly all the way home. I did't get chance until Sunday when it was dry to pop the roof and clear and wfound that the leaves stuck on the roof had stained a leaflike fossil mark in several places. (could have been very pretty) Polish and elbow grease, and black marks caravan cleaner wouldn't get it off. In the end I tried the magic sponge and it worked a treat then reapplied polish afterwards. So beware and do not let leaves on the Eriba or it can mark.

How often do you polish the roof?

Our van is parked beneath several silver birch trees and is also on the edge of a forest. This year particularly, we weren't able to cover before leaf fall because of the persistent inclement weather so, at the time of putting it to bed, we had to wash a lot of green off it.

No problem however and no leaf stains, perhaps because we cut and polish our roof at least once a year?

Just a thought

Blimey, I'm surprised there's any paint left on it.

The pop up roof is made of GRP, Deeps, so I think it may just be white gel coat and not paint. I think! If it is cutting and polishing won’t necessarily damage it but keep it in good - I think!

I polish 2 to 3 times with Mer and in-between use the rinse stuff to protect it.
