I am just renewing with Saga,as we speak(sort of ) for the 3rd year.Never had to make a claim so can't comment. However,I recommended Saga to a friend who was buying a 2ndhand Bailey from a dealer,so he took out a policy, bought the van, they( Dealers) hooked up the unit ready to go,as my friend drove away, down the ramp to the road he was overtaken by the van!! which crashed into the brick built gateposts & ended up being declared a write-off.Saga paid out the full insured amount within a week.can't do fairer than that I think.David

Well yes you can do fairer than that. When like us, you have an accident which is the fault of the other party, is paid for completely by the insurers of the other party, you don't then, if you are "fair" put the insurance premium op by 140%, i.e. From Under £500, too £1200. yes they did pay out fast but 140% for a no fault accident is taking the p**s. Oh and of course 13 years "protected" no claims bonus

We were with Saga for about 4 years, changed to Towergate last year as premium was £70 less and Saga would not negotiate !

Just got an online quote from Towergate which came out at £106
This was like for like with my Saga renewal of £185, effectively an insured loss of £15000 including equipment, awning and contents. No European cover and stored at home.

Is this just too cheap do you think?

Assuming you filled the e-form (or whatever you like to call it) in correctly and the quote is honoured, there is no such thing as "too cheap" really - proof of the pudding is if you have to claim (which you hope will be never)!

Just looking at my quote from Towergate - the accidental damage cover included only applies while towing. You have to select an optional extra to be covered at any other times. Is that normal ?

All policies are different in the small print. Buyer beware.

That may be why they are cheaper than others I suppose. By the way they are offering £40 cashback @ topcashback.
