Hi folks and happy new year!
I'm new here and a new owner of a Triton 430 60 edition: my fiancé and I (and our three dogs, one big two medium-big sized) just came back from our first trip, and we love it. We used to tour with a VW T3 Westfalia and the Triton is a huge step up for us. Our current setup is a stock 430 60 edition and we are already thinking on how to improve our experience with it.
The first thing that popped up, coming from a T3 Westfalia, is being more self-sufficient: like a grey water tank and a leisure battery.
We know they are both offered as optionals by Eriba and we were wondering:
1. where are they usually placed in recent Triton 430 (rear fixed bed)? or where are they usually fitted in your eriba?
2. for the leisure battery, is the Eriba optional worth its price? (we estimated we could DIY or have something fitted by a 3rd party with a smaller expense)
We also have a few question on general improvements.
Having 3 dogs, when it rains or the dogs get wet (snow, etc) things get pretty miserable really fast! We were considering a porch or an awning (the canopy doesn't seem like it'd be a good fit for us). What's the advantage of one over the other? My understanding is the porch is generally smaller and more robust (suitable for winter and snow) and not meant to be "lived in", while the awning is bigger and offers more liveable space. I'd be more inclined to something that allows us to dry/clean the most out of the dogs and leave as much as moisture and dirt out of our living space (that includes wet towels) but I'd love to hear what other people think and have experienced.
Speaking of porches, thanks to the forum I came to know the Walker Snow&Fun Plus: it seems robust, can any owner vouch on this? Are there any other valid Triton alternatives on the market?

Welcome.
Grey waste... I don’t think I’ve ever seen an Eriba with an onboard waste tank. It’s just so simple to use a bucket or a purpose made wheely tank.
Fitting a leisure battery allows off grid camping and motor mover use. The search facility on the forum will turn hollowed of info.
An awning provides an excellent space for living and dog storage! I know many owners have porch awnings but a full sized awning doesn’t take much more time to erect especially the new inflatables.
Ideally it would be useful to wait a while and see as many types of set up as possible before purchasing. .
Happy New Year and happy camping.

Welcome andreas, from a fellow 430 owner.
You may find the following link useful 2017 Triton 430 - extras and modifications
As regards battery, this would usually have been fitted under the bed, head end next to the wardrobe wall. On-board tank is fitted in front underseat locker, diagonally opposite entrance door. As a retro fit you could have these fitted wherever you want.
Awnings are always a great point for "discussion". As stated above a porch awning does not really take much less time to put up than a full size one. The new blow up awnings are starting to become more popular but the main seller, the Kampa Pop-Air Pro has had a few problems. 12 pages of a good thresd here New Kampa awning I would not use one in windy conditions and you must always put in the underskirt to keep the wind from being caught inside the awning.
A smaller winter awning such as the Walker you mention is a different beast. I bought one 2nd hand and sold it on without using it. It was a very heavy and robust high quality awning. The Scott on e-bay who bought it for winter use was very impressed, although be warned it is not really suitable to put up by yourself. They are seldom seen so the attached photos may give you an idea of what they are like. The first few are not my awning, but show it attached to a 430. They remainder show a loose/trial fit on my van for the awning sale.

Welcome.
We are upgrading from a Triton to a Troll in April and have a Unico Verona awning on the Triton that wont fit the new van so it will be for sale. Probably a bit early for you but thought I'd mention it. It can be a full awning but you can remove the front and/or sides. I'll find a picture and add it

Edited to add that you can put it up on your own, there is a video here Verona The hardest bit is sliding it into the channel but a can of spray solves that making it slide freely.

Thanks, folks!
eribaMotters: thank you for your review of the porch and the pictures, too bad it's not easily setup by myself as I am planning to tour to Sweden this spring on my own with two of our dogs and I would like to rely on something sturdy and easy to setup on my own.
I guess the full sized awning form the same company, the Touring Plus, would be equally unsuitable to setup on my own?
The Kampa pop air pro was my first choice until I read the thread you linked to... I'm not sure I'd like to buy one right now knowing of these problems (they are not that cheap to buy).
I have also looked at your other thread, I love the way you setup your eriba and I will ask a few questions over there!

Perhaps a "Drive Away Awning" such as a Movelite Outdoor Revolution might be the answer? https://www.worldofcamping.co.uk/outdoor...7a0&fo_s=gplauk
Have you toured Sweden before? It's a lovely country.

As far as the earlier question about the ease (or otherwise) of putting up a full (guyless) awning like a Walker singlehanded is concerned, you can do it, but not unless it's flat calm and you've got plenty of time.
And no dogs to trip over.

We have used the Automotive Leisure porch awning for the last six years and it has proved to be very robust and easy to put up.

Can't think of anything else that can be erected single handed and not everyone is as clumsy as you Pete, especially after a few. The price of alcohol is also prohibitive in Sweden.

Our 430 GT fixed bed has the big leisure battery under the rear bed, close to the wardrobe, as described by eribaMotters. Our 30l fresh water tank is also under the bed, as there is a Truma water boiler under the front left hand seat. We'll just need to remember to empty the tank before travelling or we'll end up pulling a wheelie!! Grey water from the two sinks exits under the van via individual pipes, so we'll probably adapt it to drain grey water into a single repository under the van.
