What is the height inside a 540 with top up?? On models pre 2009.

All Tourings are 1.87m max headroom pre 2010 and 1.95m 2010 onwards.

That's 6ft 1.5ins and 6ft 4.5ins in English money

That means at 6ft 2" I'd be stooping a bit and we can only afford one of the old ones. Mmmmmmm!!!!

There were also a few specials built with a double scissor mech which gave an extra 6" approx.

IIRC I never had an issue with the pop top up, it was the edge of the fixed roof and the top of the doorframe that hurt.

I suspect I may have shrunk a bit in height, sadly not in girth and I'm probably 6ft 1ins or so these days.

I am 6ft 2 ins too. Never had a problem with the old Triton Height. You very rarely stand bolt upright in a normal stance. However the slightly larger toilet area in the newer vans is a definite benefit. I find my shoulder no longer hits the curve of the roof.

And when I walked in and out of a host of new Eribas at Tebay recently I didn't have to duck my head at all.

Trouble is all the post '09 Trolls are 1300kg and the car has a max. tow weight of 1200kg.

I could try and load a 1300kg to just 1200kg but that would mean a very small payload. I could downsize to a 1200kg Triton, but Mrs SDA wants a second seating area and doesn't want a fixed or transverse bed, which kicks both 420 and 430 into touch.

So I'm back to finding a pre 2010 540.

As long as you don't find one before me!!!😀 Thanks for info. Think I'll have to try and view a pre 2010 model then. The new ones I've tried and headroom is fine. But they're way outa my price range.

Yep, rarer than Ponti.

Dom at Eriba Shop has a 2006 540GT on his arriving soon area.

He had an '07 'til earlier today but told me last week it had gone and mentioned the '06 was on the way. I asked him three days ago for info on the '06 but haven't heard a thing.

EDIT
I've just checked his site and the '07 is still There, no sign of an '06.

Weird, I've just refreshed the page and the year has changed to '06 and the price dropped by £500 but I'm fairly certain the pics are the same. A 540 with mover, rear bike rack, Stockholm upholstery, rear dinette, not multi function rear lounge, cold water only.

Which ones this and how much???
