Just had a witter swan neck detachable with Mercedes dedicated wiring pack fitted for £595 including a 13 pin to twin 7 pin adapter (I was told they don't supply twin 7 pin electrics anymore).

I also tow our old camping trailer, to take things to the tip, and have used it countless times to shift stuff around. I have covered the cost of the towbar many times over compared to renting vans and skips!

And don't go to a main dealer for a fit. All they will do is get the local mobile fitter in to do the job and mark up his price. If you can, find an independent. If anyone is in need in East Anglia, I can recommend a chap (who spends most of his time under new cars at main dealerships..)

I recently had a westfalia detachable swan neck, with dedicated VW wiring, supplied and fitted by P F Jones for £597.78. Having trawled round a number of fitters, this looked to be a competitive price and the fitter came to the house.

The 13 to 7 pin adapters are cheap as chips on Amazon.

I tell you what - you really know how to rain on a parade, don't you?

How can you get any fun out of anything if you have to produce a balance sheet first?

Colin, you missed the joke. It's £200 extra because it's an R Design, not that it will cost £200.

Yes, you're right, oops, I did miss the joke.

You really do have to plan your gardening waste disposal carefully to make the most of your allowances.

Do not, under any circumstances, carry anything larger than a small branch* without taking professional advice.

* A maximum circumference at the thickest point of 13.5cm; maximum overall length of 1.48m..

At approximately 11am tomorrow we will be having our first garden waste collection since Christmas. It is a time for great traditional celebration, as once again, the brown bin comes back into use.

I must admit to being a bit worried as recent buddleia, dogwood and elder pruning has almost o'ertopped the bin, but we can still shut the lid. I'm also a tad apprehensive as there might be the odd bit of stuff in there that comes under the heading of 'undesirable' and could cause the whole machinery of local government to fall apart. I await the dreaded knock at the door and

I'm getting confused by all of these Colins.
Less than £600 for detachable swan necks and 13 pin dedicated electrics, bargain.

Oh, and don't forget to ask them to take the paint off the ball if you have an Alko stabilser...I did (forget)...

Me too, in fact I did everything wrong. Didn't clean the rust off either, wondered why my hitch was groaning and creaking. 'Got a clean ball' now though!
Need to make sure my Alko pads are clean in the hitch now.

I have a newish Skoda Superb estate with a rectractable towbar. Anyone know if it’s ok with the alko stabiliser on a new eriba?
