Spapro #11 ...... The large table in a 2015 Eriba has dedicated poppers on the underside which are connected to the two straps with corresponding connectors one under the rear window and one in the fridge side. The table lays flat on the bed secured by these short straps. I think it’s a bodge job!!!
Previous versions had purpose made slots under the bed in its frame and quality gas struts to lift and hold the frame and table up for removal.

I don't think our large table has poppers underneath (will have to check), and not noticed any connectors under the window, or on the fridge side (but again will have to check). Thanks for the info Tony, will have a check when home where the van is stored.

What Tony describes is what happens on a van with the multi-function bed option free-standing table, not the one legged tablr that connects to the rear wall of the van.
Up to 2005 the big freestanding table was stored vertically, strapped to the exterior rear wall of the wardrobe. From 2005 the table was stored under the offside bench in cradles as Tony describes. I think it was from the reintroduction of the 540 in German built form in 2011 that the straps witb poppers were introduced.

My 2015 Familia has no storage area to put the one legged table whilst in transit. I have a small rug which fits between the two benches at the back. The table is placed face down between the benches on the rug, I then fit the bed poles in position. lightweight items are placed between the bed poles such as bedding, the poles stop the lightweight items sliding about the van and the table is also kept in place without causing damage.

Rear table - much lightened by replacement of free standing leg system with a single fold up leg - used to travel on the bed using the straps and poppers as provided - 2017 Triton. The front table just stays in place with a few bits and bobs around the foot/leg that jeep each other in place. Never seen any sign of movement. I wouldn't want to tow with the big table up - mainly cos the beds are are made up before we leave and pulled out into place - so there's no room for the table which is gathering dust along with the rear mid-bed cupboard doors - cos you can't open it with the beds in place. We found we just spent time moving it around inside the van but never using it - just take the small one and it's easy to pop it out through the door for attaching to the side of the van for outdoor treats.

2007 Triton. First couple of journeys the table was secured in its designated place on the exterior wall of the wardrobe, secure with press stud fittings.
Soon found that these fittings are not strong enough for transit.
Table now travels face down at the rear of the van, pillows either side of the single leg, mattress topper and duvets on top of that.
We mostly use the table fixed to the exterior rail in the awning, easily adjustable for level and big enough to sit 4 people round.

The brackets are microwave wall brackets and table has rubber door stops underneath which stop it moving forwards.

They don't seem to have changed much in 14 years, this comment from the 2004 MMM road test of an Eriba Style:
'Another esteemed MMM road tester took one
look at this area and said: “Hmm, the Continentals
don’t do tables do they?” So many
imported motorhomes seem to come equipped
with monolith-like maximum strength tables that
need maximum strength to shift them - and this
one’s no different.'

I'm a bit worried now after reading some of the above posts - We were advised by the dealer we purchased our 540GT from to leave both tables in the "up" position when travelling. Although our van is fitted with a storage position at the rear of the wardrobe where the table is clipped in using straps/press studs he intimated that we should not travel with the table in this position. I would have thought that he is correct as the tables can't go anywhere if attached to the aluminium rails whereas if stowed on the floor could unless they are really well strapped down.

We are like Frantone with our 540. The large table press studs onto a fixing on the single bed below the window on the door side. We have also travelled with it underneath that bed in the storage space with bedding on top,
As to the smaller table at the other end we only ever take it down to eat outside. We have never moved it for travelling. In fact we use it to have a brew or a sandwich on when we stop at service stations. MikeT

It's funny but in the five years we ran Eribas I can't recall taking the small table outside. We dropped it to make a bed up but never took it outside.
When we had the '01 with single leg large table we took that outside and clipped it to the van and when we had the '05 with mangled table we bought a lightweight folding table for the awning. Must've been a lack of imagination not to use the small one outside.

I put the table in the car for my maiden voyage and ended up not using it!. I used my old camping table outside and felt safe leaving it there, It also fits in the Puck. I'm going to keep the table at home now - problem solved and no chance of damaging it or having it stolen. Tab's have a similar table but it forms the base of the bed - no such restrictions for us.
