Funny little lever
I told you the questions would start soon, so here's the first...
In the exterior electric socket, alongside the plug is a small blue lever (I haven't pressed it ) but what is it? I saw the old man looking at it and then he had his nose in the manual, so I figured I'd try and find out before him! Electrics are a complete mystery to me.
Talking of electrics, we have booked 3 nights right on the coast in Pembrokeshire this weekend and we're going to go without EHU! .
Heating, fridge and cooking all on gas, we'll see how we fare. We'll not have the 'beer & wine' fridge in the T5, as it will rinse the T5 battery, but there is only so much beer and wine you can drink in a long weekend! The weather isn't going to be up to much but we have a huge pitch with full view of the sea. Can't wait.
The top came off the 'between the beds' storage unit with ease, and the rest of it is now up in the attic. Finding a nice brushed aluminium/chrome folding support leg to be able to use the top as a small table that's easily stored at bedtime is proving difficult, as it needs to be only 30cm long, but I'll get there.
The little blue lever is a locking device for the socket Make sure you release the cable efore driving away, I have witnessed 2 occasions when people drove off without disconecting the damage looked expensive to repair

Always found they were bu**ers to fit back in place and it always needed doing when it was wet.

The caravan end EHU plug has a sprung lid, you open the lid and plug in,
the lid then holds the plug in place. Pressing the blue lever down lifts the lid
and allows the plug to be withdrawn.

Not on mine, the lid is free floating and a push fit to close, the lever locks the plug into place, i accept there may be other variants

I think that, like me, you may have misunderstood what Rod was saying, Graham. I had to go outside and check just now.
He's referring to the lid on the end of the EHU cable (attached to the plug) and not to the external beige plastic flap that covers the socket and is a press fit to close.
The blue lid hooks onto the socket locking it in place. When you press the blue lever it lifts the blue cover off the socket allowing the cable to be withdrawn.
I can't believe that I've never before looked to see what happened when I pressed the blue lever.
