Hub Caps
I noticed that in their 2021 Parts Brochure Hymer now offer chrome hubcaps for Touring vans. They look very nice on the red RaB that they show, but it got me wondering. Do the the hub caps actually fit on the alloy wheels, because RaB, OD and 60 models aren't available with steel wheels, the alloys being part of their spec? Traditionally hub caps were fitted to steel wheels, not alloys. It would seem daft to pay £500 to £600 for three alloys and then have to buy a set of steel wheels on top in order to fit hub caps.

My previous Familia had steel wheels with cheap plastic covers. For some strange reason the wheels has a thin matt black finish?
I took the black off to reveal a pair of really nice silver finished wheels.
I can't see how hub caps will fit on alloys?

That's what I thought too. But two alloys costing about £500 or so are included in the special edition and GT packages and the spare is a cost option. So if you want chrome hubcaps on steel wheels do you get a pro rata reduction in the package price, or do you have to buy steel wheels on top?

Our 2020 Rockabilly came with hubcaps fitted on steel wheels. They look fancy but prevent the easy fitting of a wheel lock. Recently I have found that the hub caps will rotate on the wheel causing the tyre valve to be obscured when travelling. I am thinking about replacing the wheels with alloys but have yet to broach the subject with Mrs Bathchap.

That was how the wheels were configured. When we bought, the Ocean Drive came with alloy wheels, the Rockabilly with steel wheels and chrome hubs. The most recent special paint models seem to have alloys as standard.

I've just checked on the Eriba configurator and both blue and red variants are listed as steel wheels with chromed hub caps, so I misunderstood. Apologies, I was probably misled by looking at the Red Lion pics.
And BC, Your comments would suggest that the hubcaps have a cut out for the tyre valve but that the hub cap moves round so the tyre valve covered?
