Just got back from CC Clumber Park - checked in the Asst Manager peeped through the office window and said
'Oh foreign van you'll have to pitch tow in so that the car, caravan, awning pitching rules are obeyed'
'Alas no ' I replied ' I don't have to pitch nose in unless I want to and I don't want to so I'm not going to
I will pitch corner to peg and put up my awning, the car will be parked on the other side of the van thus maintaining your required fire safety margin'
The Asst Manager asked me to wait while she went into the back office and she then returned with the site manager
Fully prepared to get the CC Mag (August 2014 issue) and the letter from CC HQ in order to argue the point she took the wind out of my sails with a charming smile and said there was no problem if I would be so kind as to ensure the fire safety margins were maintained.
Asst Manager looked a bit huffed so I smiled ,paid up and pitched up nose very definitely out
So if the site manager was aware of this why wasn't the Asst up to speed?

A bbig WELL DONE from me, it's no use complaining after you need to strike while the froth is boiling

Ask the CC why Motorhomes please themselves which way around they park on a pitch.
I get fed up with them pulling in and setting up awning to awning, eyeball to eyeball.

Hi, Can anyone scan the piece on parking into this topic as I didn't keep it before throwing away the mag ....sorry, I have OCD on clutter!!!. I can then copy and keep in the van for future reference. Thanks, Chris

Friend of mine just got back from Rowntree in yours and guess what. He was told, continental van , park nose in! Note a problem for his motorehome but annoying that this Is STILL going on despite the CC statement!

But did they complain!! If not it just seems Eriba owners among others are happy to be treated as 2nd rate! Which by the way in my country I'm not! If I travel abroad I play by their rules and this does'nt seem to be a rule either enforced or applied by the CC

Hi Graham. Good to hear that you are out and about, did you get yourself a campervan? We are off to Llanrwst on Thursday and hoping the nice weather continues. I've been pretty poorly in hospital so looking forward to the break. Hope you have a lovely time. Regards. Ellen.
