CC Not again!!

I thought we had nailed the CC Eriba pitching dilemma when an article in the Caravan club magazine stated that you can pitch front in or nose out. The CC Rowntree York site has a site map with a picture of how the van and awning should be with the instructions below.....
Pitch Parking - reverse so rear corner of caravan
or motorhome to the peg as per diagram.
Continental vans drive in front left side to peg.
When I go on holiday I like to pop my top!

Thank you for your email regarding pitching at the above site. I can confirm that The Club do not insist on which direction the caravan is facing providing it is positioned on the peg so that the fire break is maintained.
Wardens will advise that with a continental caravan you may be stepping straight out onto the grass finger and will be in close proximity to the adjacent caravans awning/door so neighbouring caravans may object. This is exaggerated at Baltic Wharf because the pitches are narrow. So we ask that where possible members also consider the wishes of others on site.
Some of the awning pitches are too narrow at Baltic Wharf to accommodate awning to awning (ie when a continental van pitches next to a conventional van) as a sufficient firebreak cannot be achieved, so the caravan would need to be reversed in this instance.
In summary we ask that the caravan is pitched to the peg, the required fire breaks are maintained at all times and other members on site are considered.
Thank you again for your email.
Yours sincerely

For the third time this year I have visited the Caravan Club site at Baltic Wharf, and each time I have been requested to nose in as I have a foreign caravan!
I have owned 2 foreign caravans over a total of 23 years in the UK and only ever been asked to do this at Baltic Wharf. Why is this the case? I have asked the wardens who did not seem to know, especially when I showed them a copy of a letter stating "that nose in or out" is the club policy.
I am booked on here again in March, and no reference was made to this ruling in my booking, therefore I intend to strongly deny the request!
I do not have a mover nor do I intend to part with the best part of £1400 to have one fitted. As I am 60 I await with interest the clubs reaction should I slip, trip or fall on a possibly wet pitch, or god forgive suffer a heart attack! I guess you'll swerve that one with a good lawyer!
Yours very dissapointedly,
Graham T Ryan

Thank you for your email regarding the pitching layout we have now adopted on Club Sites across the network. I can confirm that on directly owned Caravan Club Sites the ruling accepts outfits either being pitched nose in or reversed on as long as the safety spacing requirement is adhered to. With a network spread across The UK it takes a little time for our Regional Managers to work with the sites to do a proper assessment and get round all of the sites. I do hope you continue to enjoy caravanning with The Club in the future.
Kind regardsRosie EatonSites Co-ordinator"
