Ah I see what you mean, it seems like it may not be too straightforward, but not beyond doing. I'm sure that if we do remove it, it will not be too difficult to make good after. I just need to be sure that removing the basin, will indeed give me a few more inches of leg room, so mock ups and tape measure will be well used before we start! Thank you for the really helpful information.

Here's the update, have had a look at the toilet and removing the sink and cupboard, but leaving the toilet bench itself, is a very viable option. By removing the wash basin and cupboard, you are achieving 29 inches width to the room, making it a usable space. I realise that from a hygiene point of view the sink was preferable, but hand sanitation will be installed and you can wash them in the kitchen sink anyway?! Problem solved! Now, just need the time to do it!! THank you all for your help, I will post pictures of before, during and after!

Not sure if this is of interest, but we have removed the Washbasin and cupboard and what a success, it's a 95 Famillia and it appears that in 95 they did, infact, line the bathroom completely with the 'formica' type of waterproofing. It took hubby under an hour to remove, but he does now have to T off the water pipe, roll back the waste pipe and put in some trunking for an electrical cable that we also have in there for a battery feed. This is what it looks like (trying to upload photo, bear with me, my navigation on here is pants..lol): ......OK, scratch that, I don't understand German.

Yes, it must be of interest to many folk Jan. There is a comprehensive thread written by Hob about uploading pics, How to include images in a post and we'd love to see some before and after modification.

Hi there, I'm sorry, I must be really thick lol., I simply don't seem to be reading my page as the really helpful description. Do we all see it in Dutch/German. My page doesn't seem to bear any resemblance to the example...or is that intentional?? I'm sure it's me...

Ignore 'Fotos hochladen' completely.
Once you've clicked Attach file, click 'Browse' and navigate to your photograph's location on your computer. Depending on what operating system your computer uses, you'll probably get a file upload window of some kind at this stage, so you need to open (i.e. click on) that file - that photograph - which will insert its name into the space next to Browse in the forum's reply window.
Below Browse is a button labelled 'Upload'. Press it.
Once the photo (or photos - it's essentially the same operation for multiple images) has uploaded, the reply page will say 'Uploaded files:' followed by the name of the file, followed by 'Insert'.
Press Insert.
In the next little window that appears, leave the first setting at 'Auto'. You can change whereabouts the photograph appears in your text by choosing one of the three options after 'Flow:'
Press 'Insert image'
Now you'll have a line in the reply box which looks something like this:
[[File:My dog's nose copy.JPG|none|auto]]
Press 'Preview' to see what the finished post is going to look like, and edit your reply as necessary before finally pressing 'Submit'
It is a bit clunky, but if it's any consolation it takes less time to do than it does to describe.
