In the past everything was ... smaller - at least when camping in the snow in 1960 things were much more rustic than today.

The only ones with a bit of sense are the Eribafolk still tucked up in bed.

Wow, look at those caravans. Anyone know the make? The car is also new to me. Evidently it's a Matford V8 48 1935. Made by Ford France along with Mathis.

ps. I'm wondering if the caravans are 5th wheelers like this Curtiss Aerocar photo I've found?

Addendum. After all that searching I've just noticed that the clue is on the car's number plate Doh!!!

Somewhere in Britain. I'm guessing mid 60s. Any takers?

That Morris has a split widescreen so manufactured pre-56. Although they did go on forever. Bet it wasn’t a towcar - not much torque on a 798cc engine!

Yes, but I wasn't sure if the other one has a "big" back window so 57> . There's also a 105 Anglia (post 1959) parked next to the Beford CA Dormobile.

It could even be a Consul Classic with a fixed quarter light in the rear door window so post 1961.

The newspaper in the Bedford Dormobile is dated 1958. Something about cod wars

Took a lot of time before I traced the caravan towing car. I do remember them as a lad and it turns out that it is a Morris Six MS. (I think)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Morris_Six_MS

Note the "outside" periscope fitted to the caravan window. I remember them fitted to the front widow of the tow car but never to a caravan.

Where was the picture taken? Leicester as per the delivery van back door or Salford as per the Ford Popular Van number plate (see next post)?
