I'm desperately trying to remember what they're used for?

Our '01 540 had an Omnistor roll-out awning fitted and the '05 had a Caravanstore which I sold and used an NL full awning instead, but I can't remember the significance of that bit.

Must be age

Ah! Now I remember. I recall that the '05 540 came with an ancient Soplair awning that was in good condition, apart from the frame that looked as if it was made before WW2 and bits seemed to be missing. For the life of me I can't remember what happened to it.

Anyway some further research on the '07 540 reveals that the fabric fitted is called Avignon, this from the 2008 Eriba brochure as that fabric didn't feature in the 2007 one. The '08 brochure also revealed that the empty weight is 890kg and the MIRO 920kg, at least it was in '08, so likely to be the same in '07. That means a payload of 280kg before options and mover.

On the traditional frame awnings used by owners, eg Soplair, Vanderhorn, Movera, etc and I believe the barrel shaped Unico, you have three mounting brackets screwed into the awning rail. Just aft of side window, forward of door and another midway. The awning frame hooks into these mounts.

ps - if it meets your requirements stop prevaricating and go and see it.

OK, so B'mouth is 220 miles from home and takes about 4 hours to get to by car, according to Google.

By train the cheapest return is £116 but that doesn't leave Crewe 'til 10.29 and gets into Bournemouth at 3pm which doesn't leave much time to get to AL and view. Return journey is 17.22 and gets to Crewe at 22.10.

An earlier departure (06.49) gets to B'mouth at 11.13 and a 16.45 return gets to Crewe at 20.53 - costing an eye watering £253.90.

Car fuel would be about £60 return but I don't really fancy 8 or 9 hours driving on my tod. Can't pull current van for an overnighter so maybe a Travelodge.

I remember the front and back ones Colin, it was the mid one that I couldn't recall. In fact I think I may have one or several in a bits box in the garage.

I'm really confused as to why anyone would extract the washroom and install a 2nd kitchen in an Eriba? Was it being used as an on site burger van or something?

I'm just as confused as you Colin. Cameron says that it was owned by a 'collector', but even if it was someone that just kept Eribas to look at, which is weird enough, you wouldn't think they'd start messing the inside about with non-matching cabinetry etc.

As my dear old Granny used to say, 'there's now't so queer as folk'.

We were serious about a 310 with fixed bed, to keep the van as short as possible, but without compromising on sleeping arrangements. The lack of washroom didn't bother us, or so we thought. Now we have the 430, we've ended up with a 310 + washroom, at a penalty of around half a metre of van length. I probably wouldn't want to lose the washroom now (although it's only for night time and emergencies), but we could use a bigger table or more worktop. A second kitchen, or rather more space for kitchen stuff isn't the weirdest thing I can think of. Of course, come the warmer weather, outdoor living is what it's all about, and I would have thought an awning + table + BBQ/grill is the way to do it.

Not wishing to confuse you even more Andy but our 2004 PuckL had the Avignon fabric. Maybe it wasn't in the 2007 brochure but it had been in use before then. We liked that fabric far more than the Malmo that was in our 2008 420. Now we have strange gold and blue Dutch fabric, it's has throws over it.

Our '05 540 had Avignon as well Julie, so I don't know why Hymer left it off their brochure in '07.

In fact there seems little difference between '05 and '07. The wardrobe doors aren't panelled in the '07 and the pull-out extra worktop has gone as has the lovely deep wooden edges on tables etc. The washroom looks the same as does the central cabinet in the lounge.

The 2007 brochure shows Avignon upholstery.
Compared with 2004/5 models on 2006/7 models cabinet work did change on the doors and handles. The rear grab rail also appeared instead of the two grab handles. It is over this period that the entrance door lost its grills, as did the gas locker. It's all rather grey this period as I am guessing the factory fitted what it had in transition from one build period to the next.

I found the 2008 brochure for Eriba Tourings which was very like the 2007 one on your link Colin but when I Googled 2007 all I could find was the Hymer Caravan catalogue from '07 which featured several Touring pages the layout outlines and all the fabrics but Avignon wasn't listed (see below).
