St Germaine del belle 35k south of Limoges in France, I have a feeling that we have met before, he said he bought it because his money was making nothing in the bank and inflation was eating away, he certainly looked pleased with himself

I pointed out to him that he is also misleading by that statement, disco commercial and ford ranger can't legally tow an 820 in the UK, there is nothing less than a 7.5 ton vehicle which could. He never responded.

If you want a laugh then how about this extract from Red Lion advertisement:-
"The proven steel cage construction with smooth metal in Crystal Silver has been extended to incorporate two large panoramic windows. This makes every view a highlight on every holiday and day trip."
Who would on waking up think to themselves, oh I'll just hook the bungalow on the back of my commercial vehicle and go for a day trip.

Of course this was meant for the continental not the British touring market, On our trip to Spain last year we came upon one, a German in France who had driven considerable distances in it and he seemed to be very happy with it P1030141.JPG - Bild entfernt (keine Rechte)

Well, a year has gone by and we can see how saleable they are. Look at this:-

I must admit to feeling a bit sorry for Red Lion. They took on an Eriba dealership and had a delivery or two of vans that really were not as saleable as they should have been.
The Feelings they still have in stock after a year are good vans, but the wrong specification. I really do think that Hymer/Eriba have not done them any favours.

Don't know how many but they do appear to be selling a few on mainland Europe. New members Quincy bought one recently and we have a few Eribafolk Facebook members who own them.
I still think that Hymer overlooked the size perameters for British roads (only by 80mm ). There is no shortage of cars in the UK that can tow them.

Hello,
As a happy owner of an 820 Touring I`m looking forward to the next camping season. Last year we went to the lake Garda, to Spain and it was never a problem to get the caravan movered into its place on a camping site. The 820 is small enough to pass the maut stations in Italy, France and Spain without any problems.
I`ve been a lot of times in GB, knowing the small country lanes, and I`m quite shure, that I would be able to tow whereever I`like.
Concerning the classic Eriba models, an 820 is definetly not as "stylish" as on old Troll, Puck or models like that, but sometimes one must be open-minded to recognise new, innovative stuff.
