"The new Eriba Touring 820 is the biggest Touring ever. Complete with tandem axle and Airstream look. You will find the lifting roof in vain. A new flagship as a signboard. The super big brother of the Puck and Troll can be seen in January at the CMT in Stuttgart."

It wouldn't translate on my laptop but that's probably me. If this is a genuine van it's a step too far. Too big, too generic and no pop top! Think I'll stick to my Troll.

Well it's an Airstream in all but name so it's going to cost a lot.

I would be surprised if you ever see one of these on the road (in Europe at least).

Classic Eriba profile though. I love the appearance and those windows

It's about time someone came away from the wobbly box design but at what cost

Hi Julie. Just right click and the translate to English box should pop up.

2.5 tons!!!! its an Eriba Troll that has been on holiday to a foie-gras farm... Sometimes manufactures lose sight of the brand and what it stands for. Its a bit like the modern Mini, there is nothing mini about them any more, they should re-brand them as Giganticus ...

When I go on holiday I like to pop my top!

The only thing that's reminiscent of a Touring is the overall shape of the sides, ends and door. The internals aren't even vaguely like a Touring, the roof, chassis and running gear aren't and neither are the windows or the detailing on the exterior.

I guess the designers decided that is such a large van they needed a proper shower room and making a new design would be too costly, so they selected an off the shelf motorhome one. That then dictated the rest of the interior style as 'normal' Touring furniture would look wrong beside the washroom.

Presumably making a big enough pop-top for such a van is a technical and costly challenge so that got dumped and the roof heightened so 6 footers could stand straight.

Too much Hymer and not enough Eriba as it were. More style than substance maybe.

It's very lovely and it has some hallmarks of what we know and love, but I would give it another name to differentiate it from the Touring range. It's clearly based on Airstream principles and would do very well against other big luxury vans, but interested parties would need to buy a 4.4l Range Rover to pull it.

It's the price of an ordinary camper van but will keep its value better! I have no idea what you'd need to tow it.

I can't recall the exact law involved but I suspect that at that length/weight it has to be pulled by a commercial vehicle, Range Rovers not allowed, even though a big engined one could manage it.
