Well I finally had spare time to start looking at the loo again! I plugged into the EHU and gave the loo a try and it worked and the pump was going fine. It would seem that if not on EHU then there is not enough power to the pump for the loo. Sink tap is fine but must be more power needed for the flush tank. I did have chance to check the pump as last trip out it would only flush to halfway in the tank and I though I hadn't put the pump back in correct.
On inspection it was the electric cable did not have enough slack to let the pump drop to the near bottom as I had pulled to much through the rubber grommet seal around the cable to make it easier to get out of the way. When this was threaded back through and the pump dropped lower the flush works down to an empty tank.
Anyone else come across this with their flush pump not working off the battery power?

What is the voltage across the battery terminals when off ehu and what is it when connected to the mains?
ahhhh I can't tell that - what contraption do I need to get check battery power?

It's a good idea to fit a panel-mounted voltmeter in the van so you can keep an eye on the state of your battery and the charging system.
This one that I fitted when I was having major BIP problems a couple of years ago was quite expensive but you can pick up something perfectly adequate for a couple of quid. It will tell you what your battery voltage is when no power is being drawn and also show what voltage your charger is delivering when your fittings are drawing current or after your battery has become partially discharged after, say, using a motor mover and it is in recharging mode.

When the meter was showing 13.1V while on EHU I knew immediately that the charger wasn't working. It should have been reading 13.8V.

I don't have a battery but mine works ok when coupled to the car, when I changed mine it looked a lot like the other water pumps, as Aaron says maybe get the battery checked, a garage should have the kit to do it if you don't.

OK, update on this situation. Today I got a Multimeter and went to check on the battery situation. Before I measured it I tried the toilet pump, and only a click not motor running. I then hooked up the EHU and gave it a go and hey presto it worked fine, After unplugging the EHU I then measured the battery and it is reading as 11.53v.
I think the toilet pump is more powerful than the water supply ones as I tried those using the battery and they worked fine just the Toilet pump would not unless it was EHU.
So for a 12v battery to read 11.53 I think that is fine,, isn't it ? what should I not let it drop down to?

I always look at battery power like a river, I don't do trics, but
the volts may be there i.e water
but the flow may have stopped amps rivers frozen
id charge the battery before writing it off just yet
should battery not charge and stay not charged, totally without a raisin flow, wires disconnected, then its time for replacement battery research
check the pumps spec, if renewed..
(now if this was a car it be getting a jump start or a heft push at 11.53 volts the cars ecu would take down to 9v and the starter would click.).
the eriba charge normally has the battery on ehu at 13.7volts
off hook up power in dark mine drops to 12.8volts, at moment light nights ect.have solars hence the dark reading..
looks like might have to pack a fire bucket for voltage drop toilet flushing lol
am sure someone with better knowledge will pop along soon

Camping and caravan club guide as follows:
12.7v or over-100%
12.5v-75%
12.4v-50%
12.2v-25%
12v or under- discharged
Charge is recommended when it falls below 50%!!

As Jason says above it should be higher than that

It's only been on there since around May 2015 and I have not gone off EHU that much only the odd night here and there and then I am careful about not using the lights. Will put it on EHU to try to charge it up.

Does your Eriba have a battery charger? If it came from Dom it may not, a lot of European vans don't have a battery so don't fit a charger either.
Mine from Holland has no battery or charger fitted.
Mine looks like this ......... no battery no charger.
