Spent the afternoon sewing medical masks as you cant get hold of them at the chemist's. Oh joy. Looks so chic.

I made these. Not very effective but at least a barrier if someone coughs all over you. Sterilised after each use.

There's also a more elaborate one I'll try too. Yann has to visit his 93 year old mum twice a day.

This is useful I think. It easy and we always have yogurt and flour.

Islay I think that your medical masks are very nice and if I need one I now know how to make one , maybe with a more subdued colour . Your recipe for the two ingredient dough also looks very good and Margaret is going to try it out , it seems excellent for when we are out in the Eriba

I made similar a week or so back as a flatbread to go with a veg curry, but mixed by hand. Texture was fine but next time I'd add a little salt to the dough and if using with a curry some roast ccumin seeds. They are supposed to make a decent emergency pizza base but yet to try them like this.

Made cream cheese yesterday. Delicious. Flavoured it with salt, pepper, garlic and chives. With smoked salmon on baguette. Yum.

I've given up on the ideas of planting summer salad bits but all going well on the bench and tables.
It's a lovely sunny day here, garage door is open, music on and I'm part way through final fitting of the 30 Mortice & Tennon joints I cut yesterday. I need to cut and fit another 12 before I can start gluing up. Photos of completed bits later in the week.

When we moved up north and downsized at the end of 2017 I left behind a detached 7.5 x 4.5 m workshop and an integral 6.5 x 3 m garage. The garage housed the Eriba, painting and decorating gear, gardening equipment and the odd stuff you collect over the years. The workshop was a sacred place for just woodwork as up until about 5 yrs before retirement from teaching I was doing a fair amount of bespoke/one-off joinery work. Living in the south-east was expensive and I had no choice but to do so.
When deciding on our "new" smaller house one thing that was a must was the combined garage/workshop. I planned to do all the internals and so still needed space. The room is 10 x 5 m with two mezanie levels of 5 x 2 m each. The boys[left home but left crap as usual] stuff takes up one and the stuff you would normally house in the loft is on the other. One disadvantage of this size space is how much paint it took . 140L and I didn't paint the floor.
What you cannot see is down the left hand side is a door into the hallway through the utility room. Being attached to the house in this way is marvellous, no more trapesing down a muddy garden in the cold and rain. It's worked out well. Everything is on castors so machinery at up to 300kg is easy to move around and make space to work. I've done all the internal stuff now and was planning on LOTs of time away in the Eriba, but that is on hold. I'm also waiting for the bankrupt builders buyer/takeover bod to re-do the outside as the job is bad.

Hmm nice. my garage was designed with Caterham 7 owners in mind. If you are careful you can just about get out of the car after parking it in the garage (must get a sunroof). Then we had the Eriba in front of the garage, and the other car in front of that. This worked well until we needed the car out of the garage (it was a bit like the opening of Butterfiles if you remember that). So now we only have one car. At least we have parking which is better than a lot around here.
